Coaching Positions Available: Future Sapphires Program
Football NSW invites suitably qualified Football coaches and Strength and Conditioning coaches to apply for a position within the Future Sapphires Program for the inaugural 2025 season.
The Future Sapphires program is a supplementary program aimed to run alongside players’ club commitments to prepare players for the National Youth Championships and future national team representation. The Program will ensure highly rated talented players continue to access at least four training contacts per week in addition to a game.
The Program will cater to the needs of the highest-rated talented players in the given age grades in line with the state team program.
- The Program length: 40 weeks
- Program contact: Two contacts per week
- Age groups: Under 15, Under 16, Under 18
- Squad size: 20-24 individuals

- October 2024 – Appointments made
- February to November 2025 – Program delivery

Other important information
- Coaches will work exclusively with Football NSW and have no alignment to any NPL club.
- Coaches may be offered additional pathway program opportunities such as involvement within the Girls Talent Support Program (TSP) and State team programs.
- Head Coaches will be required to hold a minimum of an FFA/AFC A Licence.
- Assistant Coaches will be required to hold a minimum of an FFA/AFC B Licence.
- Understanding of the FA National Football Curriculum and the underlying philosophy.
- Demonstrated communication, organisation and leadership skills.
- Previous experience in coaching within elite football player development programs.
- Coaches must have a current paid Working with Children’s clearance number (see below).

Working with Children Check (WWC) Number
Successful applicants will be working with children under the age of 18. You MUST have a current paid WWC clearance.
