Landen Stadium will play host to the 2024 League One Women’s Grand Final with Mt Druitt Town Rangers locking horns against reigning Champions St George FC in what will be a cracking match of football.

Let’s check out the final preview of the season for this fantastic league.

Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC vs St George FC, Sunday 8 September, 3:45pm, Landen Stadium

Mt Druitt Town Rangers and St George FC will compete for the League One Women’s Championship at Landen Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

It is quite fitting that the season will finish with these two in the Grand Final after they kicked off the year all in Round 1.

The Rangers had a comfortable 3-0 win against Bankstown City Lions FC to book their spot in the big dance.

This game serves as a wonderful cherry on top for the Town Rangers program who have had a plan since their reintroduction and are eligible for top flight women’s football next season.

Coach Ben Gough took over this season and has kept the side motoring along throughout and they ready for the last act in the grand final.

It feels like a broken record but everything for the Town Rangers starts with captain and former Matildas star Leena Khamis who is a leader in voice and goals.

At the other end, Renee Krstanovska showed why she is a fan favourite and leading contender for Golden Glove with another penalty save and if it goes all the way on Sunday she will be confident.

The trio of Rosaria Galea, Renee Houliaras and Trudy Camilleri who joined this season have helped spark the Rangers’ success.

At the back, Sheiden Jabour and Holly Williams have patrolled the back line and robbed teams of goals all season.

While Caitlin Campbell will be lining up against the side she lifted the trophy with last season and she is looking to add another title to her collection.

St George FC went through the full gambit of emotions in their semi-final. They defeated Premiers SD Raiders FC 5-4 on penalties after it was 0-0 after 120 minutes.

The Saints have marched to the final through a late season surge and will have the chance to win back-to-back titles.

Co-captain Nicole Besz was a rock at the back in the semi-final and the defender will be vital again to holding off one of the league’s top scorers.

Up front, Janan Codmani and Kyla Vanderlaan gave them plenty of fire at the top end as they went close to winning in regulation.

Both Alexia Saltirov and Abbey-Rose Cryer can be options coming off the bench for St George FC on Sunday in the final stages.

Also keep an eye on Genevieve Russo who has patrolled the midfield well for St George FC and she will be trying to find their potent attackers this Sunday.

Custodian Caitlin Russell has made an impact since joining in mid-season and can be called upon to make some big saves.

The Saints were beaten twice by the Rangers during the regular season and will look to gain revenge on the big stage at Landen Stadium.

St George FC have kept a core of their group around in the last few seasons and coach Mark Greenfield has moulded a side that never gives up.

The game will be streamed live on the Football NSW YouTube channel on Sunday afternoon.

We will have ‘The Professor’ Mel Muscat and the ‘Filipino Flyer’ Eric Subijano behind the microphone for what is set up for a fantastic end to another wonderful season.
