It was an unforgettable 2024 Champion of Champions tournament for the Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA) who celebrated its five-title haul across two-action packed days at Football NSW’s Valentine Sports Park.

Capturing more titles than any other association, the NSFA were proud of their club’s achievements which included St Ives (13 Boys), North Sydney United FC (Over 30 Womens) and Lindfield FC’s hattrick of teams featuring the 14 Girls, 18 Womens and 18 Mens age categories triumph in their respective finals.

“The NSFA are thrilled with the results and couldn’t be prouder of our teams,” said Northern Suburbs FA Chief Executive Officer Kevin Johnson.

“Winning more titles than any other association across NSW is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, from the players to the coaches, and of course, our supportive clubs and communities.

“It shows the strength and depth of talent we have within the NSFA and our commitment to developing players at all levels.”

It’s been a huge year for the NSFA and its clubs following their Champion of Champions achievements.

Leading into Football NSW’s most prized grassroots tournament, the NSFA had as many as nine teams representing the proud area.

Asked what’s assisted in the Association’s rise to the top, Johnson added.

“There’s been a few reasons starting with club support. Our clubs are integral to this success, offering fantastic environments that not only focus on football development, but also foster a sense of community and teamwork

“Along with that our volunteers and coaches. The dedication and passion of our volunteers and coaches have been vital in shaping our players and guiding them to success. Their tireless work ensures that every player has the opportunity to reach their full potential, both on and off the field.”

With just under 18,000 registered winter footballers across 30 clubs in the NSFA, the battle for playing in Football NSW’s Champion of Champions has always been an ambition and goal for a number of these clubs.

“The Champion of Champions tournament is the pinnacle of football for our community clubs,” said Johnson.

“It provides a platform for the best teams to showcase their talents on a state level, and it’s a competition that is highly regarded across the entire football community.

“To our teams and clubs, winning at this level is a source of immense pride and recognition for the hard work put in throughout the season.”

After a huge 2024 season, the NSFA have busily been preparing for yet another massive year as they hope 2025 brings the association even more fortune and success.

“In 2025, we aim to build on this success and continue our focus on player development,” Johnson stated to Football NSW.

“We’re looking at expanding our grassroots programs, ensuring that even more young players have access to quality coaching.

“Additionally, we’re committed to supporting more clubs in providing clear pathways for players to progress to higher levels of the game.

“Improving facilities and providing ongoing support to our clubs will also remain a key priority, enabling them to continue nurturing the next generation of football stars.”
