2024 FPL2 Men Preview RD9

Round 9 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s competition has another full slate of games to entice fans this weekend.

All three games have implications for the top four and will be fantastic contests.

Let’s get onto the preview.

West City Crusaders vs APIA FC Futsal, Saturday 2 November, 5:10pm, PCYC Hawkesbury

West City Crusaders host APIA FC Futsal in their game at PCYC Hawkesbury on Saturday afternoon.

The Crusaders had a 2-2 draw against fellow finals contenders Phoenix Futsal Club in Dural last weekend.

Stuart Gosling scored the opener in the game and he will look to add to his tally of three goals for the season.

The hosts will be missing Benjamin Lam for this contest after his red card in the first half against Phoenix Futsal Club.

APIA FC Futsal took the spoils in a 12-8 goal fest against SD Raiders Futsal Club at Valentine Sports Park.

It was a sparkling performance from Bilal Belkadi in the result and shares the top scoring title with his teammate Marcus Sparacino.

APIA FC Futsal were beaten 5-4 by the Crusaders back in Round 2 and seek to return the favour on Saturday afternoon.

SD Raiders Futsal vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 2 November, 4:20pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College

SD Raiders Futsal face off against Phoenix Futsal Club at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts had a superb first half before they lost 12-8 to APIA FC Futsal at Valentine Sports Park last weekend.

Matthew Barkho is a goal poacher, scoring four goals in the defeat and he will be the key man for SD Raiders Futsal again.

They hope that they take the first half performance into a full 50 minute effort and add another three points.

Phoenix Futsal Club had a stirring late comeback to draw 2-2 against West City Crusaders last Saturday night.

Keeper James Brunacci made a key stop late and he will be needed again to keep Phoenix Futsal Club in the top four after Saturday.

Up front, Matthew Luttringer got the comeback started last week and he will lead from the front again.

Macarthur Quake Futsal Club vs Raiders Futsal Club, Saturday 2 November, 4:20pm, Minto Indoor Sports Centre

Macarthur Quake Futsal Club takes on Raiders Futsal Club at Minto Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Quake return to action refreshed after their weekend off due to the bye looking to get back in the winner’s circle.

Mark Symington has led the way for Quake this season with seven goals and they will need his magic touch against the Raiders Futsal Club defence.

This game is a big opportunity for Macarthur Quake Futsal Club to move into the top four if they can pick up three points.

Raiders Futsal Club featured in the Match of the Round and had a 3-3 draw against Sydney Futsal Club last Saturday.

They remain at the top of the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s competition despite the draw and look prime for another finals appearance.

Custodian Ibrahim Daniel showed why he is one of the top keepers in the league with some stellar saves and will be primed for another big performance.
