Round 12 Futsal Premier League 2 – Open Men’s Preview
Round 12 in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s competition shapes up as an important weekend for all seven teams. All three games have implications for the top four as the season rounds the final corner. Let’s get onto the preview.
Macarthur Quake Futsal Club vs SD Raiders Futsal, Saturday 23 November, 4:20pm, Minto Indoor Sports Centre
Macarthur Quake Futsal Club hosts SD Raiders Futsal at Minto Indoor Sports Centre on Saturday afternoon.
The Quake ran rampant in their 10-2 win against West City Crusaders on their home turf last weekend.
They showed their scoring touch in the result with seven different goal scorers and will attack from anywhere on the pitch.
SD Raiders Futsal battled hard before they fell to a 11-6 loss against Sydney Futsal Club at Thomas Hassall Anglican College.
Carl Skobla scored a pair in the game and he has tallied eight times thus far in the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s season.
The visitors won the first game between these two back in Round 5 and hope to repeat the dose again.
Raiders Futsal Club vs Phoenix Futsal Club, Saturday 23 November, 4:20pm, Thomas Hassell Anglican College
Raiders Futsal Club take on Phoenix Futsal Club down at Thomas Hassell Anglican College on Saturday afternoon.
It was a frustrating 4-4 draw for Raiders Futsal Club against APIA FC Futsal in last week’s Match of the Round.
It was a few defensive lapses which cost them last weekend and they hope to rectify those at home for a big three points.
Omid Mokhtar will miss this game after his straight red card during the Match of the Round last weekend.
Phoenix Futsal Club were the odd team out and got some rest during the bye before the last leg of the season.
Connor Slater did good work as the target man for Phoenix Futsal Club in their last game and he will be a big figure again in this contest.
Results fell their way during their week off and Phoenix Futsal Club remain on top of the Futsal Premier League 2 Open Men’s ladder.
Sydney Futsal Club vs West City Crusaders, Saturday 23 November, 4:30pm, NC of Indigenous Excellence
Sydney Futsal Club face off against West City Crusaders down at NC of Indigenous Excellence on Saturday afternoon.
The hosts come off a big 11-6 win against SD Raiders Futsal at Thomas Hassell Anglican College last weekend.
Adin Scalone fired home a hat-trick in the result and took his tally to six goals for the 2024 campaign.
They need to continue to build results if Sydney Futsal Club wants to make a late charge towards finals football.
The Crusaders were beaten 10-2 against a surging Macarthur Quake side at Minto Indoor Sports Centre last Saturday.
That loss put a dent in their hopes for the top four as the chasing pack closes in headed into the final three weekends.
Stuart Gosling has been a consistent goal scorer for the Crusaders and he will lead the way again on Saturday.
