The first follow-on networking event for the Women in Leadership Program recently took place at the A-League Women’s fixture between Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners at Leichhardt Oval.

As many as twelve participants were fortunate enough to be at the match, with tickets donated by Sydney FC, where everyone enjoyed the opportunity to network and strengthen connections with like-minded women in the football industry.

“Participating in the Follow Your Lead program was an invaluable chance to connect with more like-minded women across all areas of the football industry,” said Sydney FC’s Fan Engagement – Manager, Strategic Programs, Ash Campbell, who was also part of the Women in Leadership Program.

“It’s been great to continue building connections through various networking opportunities, most recently at the Sydney FC A-League Women’s match, and to meet new women as the group continues to grow,”.

The Women in Leadership Program has supported nearly 100 women currently working or volunteering in football across NSW, helping them develop their leadership skills, building confidence, and enhancing their knowledge of sports governance.

Since its launch, the program has proven to be a resounding success and has provided participants with a new network of supportive female advocates.

To build on the program’s success, Football NSW will continue to offer opportunities for these women to connect, grow, and support one another.

The next Women in Leadership program will take place in March, welcoming 25 more women in football to join and participate.

Football NSW remains committed to advocating for gender equity across all areas of football and will continue to support women both on and off the field.
