Football NSW Referees Branch hosts pre-season seminar

The Football NSW Referees Branch ramped up preparations for the upcoming year with their annual pre-season seminar at Valentine Sports Park.
The event featured a presentation from new Football Australia Head of Referees, Jon Moss, who spoke on FA’s direction for refereeing and his experiences as a match official.
FIFA Referees Casey Reibelt and Ben Abraham, along with A-League Referee Tim Danaskos and NPL Men’s NSW Head Referee Coach Chris Young shared key technical changes and held interactive coaching sessions to the attendees to prepare them for the season ahead. Fitness testing was also conducted in the afternoon.
The seminar saw over 140 senior match officials and over 100 junior match officials in attendance throughout the day.
“The pre-season seminar is an integral part of getting match officials ready for the upcoming season,” said Emma Kocbek, Football NSW Referees Development and Education Manager.
“Thank you to Jon Moss and our other presenters for their contribution on the day and assistance in setting our match officials up for success this season.”
At the seminar Kurt Ams was also awarded Life Membership after over 25 years of service to the game, including representing NSW as a FIFA and A-League match official.
Football NSW congratulates Kurt on his achievements throughout his career and the awarding of life membership.
