Wright set to make A-League Men’s debut

Football NSW assistant referee Cameron Wright is set to make his A-League Men’s debut in this Friday’s match between Newcastle Jets and Brisbane Roar at McDonald Jones Stadium.
Cameron has been named NPL Men’s NSW Assistant Referee of the Year for the past three seasons, officiating the 2022 and 2024 NPL Men’s NSW Grand Finals.
In addition to his recent success at state level, he was appointed as an assistant referee for the Australia Cup Round of 16 in 2024.
Originally starting his refereeing journey with Macarthur District Football Referees Association, Cameron quickly progressed to the Football NSW Referee Development Program before being selected to join the Football NSW Referees Academy in 2017.
Cameron has also been appointed to the Football Australia Boys National Youth Championships, Football NSW Waratah Cup Final and the now-defunct National Youth League.
In an added bonus, Cameron will be making his ALM debut as part of the same refereeing team as his identical twin brother Brad Wright. They will become the first twins to referee an A-League Men’s fixture together.
