Camden Falcons named Football NSW Club Changer of the Month

Football NSW has named Macarthur Football Association’s (MFA) Camden Falcons as its Club Changer of the Month for April.

Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development Program which aims to protect and enhance clubs to make them stronger and more resilient while planning for long-term viability and success.

MFA General Manager Paul Bertolissio was delighted to see Camden Falcons engaging with Club Changer.

“Camden Falcons used their Club Changer action plan in 2023 to support an increase in female participation, and they saw the benefits of this in 2024 with player growth of 13.4% and female participation growth of 27%, it’s exciting to see this continue in 2025 with continued growth in the junior girls of 8.2%.

“It’s great to see the engagement of our clubs with the program as 12 Macarthur clubs have achieved their 1-star status and two of those clubs have also gone on to complete their 2-star accreditation.”

“At Camden Falcons we’re proud to support the growth of female football and we are committed to creating an inclusive and empowering environment for girls of all ages,” said Falcons Club President Cindy Fielder.

“Offering female-only teams from U6 to u11s as well as junior and senior teams and with participation numbers continuing to rise, we are excited for the future of female football at the club and we are proud to be a place where girls belong, lead, and thrive in football.

“In a further step to support inclusion, we have introduced Emergency Sanitary Packs in kit bags from our u10’s through to junior teams, helping remove barriers to participation and promoting a safe, supportive environment for all players.

“Female leadership is a pivotal part of the club, with both our club President and Secretary being female, whilst the club also supports and encourages female coaches, ensuring we foster strong role models and create more pathways for women in football.”

Football NSW’s Program Manager of Club Development, Trevor Huxley, praised the Falcons’ engagement with Club Changer.

“It’s great to see Camden Falcons’ continued growth in the female football space.

“Their continued efforts to provide participants with a fun, safe and social environment ensures they provide opportunities for everyone.

“Being awarded April’s Club Changer Club of the Month is testament to all their hard work!”
