Leading Football NSW officials Maddy Allum and Molly Godsell will be part of a strong referee line-up in this Sunday’s 2024-25 Ninja A-League Women’s Grand Final between Melbourne Victory FC and Central Coast Mariners FC at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

Allum, who will feature as assistant referee in the final clash on Sunday, is no stranger to finals football, having been appointed to the 2022/23 A-League Women’s Grand Final. Allum began her refereeing with Canterbury Referees Association and consistently progressed through the FNSW pathways before being selected for the national panel in 2021/22. In 2024, Allum was appointed to the FIFA International Referees List as an Assistant Referee and 2025 has seen her achieve other significant milestones such as her A-League Men’s debut.

Sunday’s Grand Final will be Godsell’s first appointment to an ALW Grand Final, after stellar performances in the 2025 Finals series, both in the Elimination Final between Adelaide United and Western United and the Semi Final Second Leg between Central Coast Mariners and Melbourne City. Godsell, who originates from Nepean Referees Group, is an alumni of the FNSW Referee Academy and also recently graduated from the Football Australia Referee Academy. This season Molly was officially appointed to the A-League Women’s Panel and her consistent performances resulted in securing a finals debut this year at just 22 years old.

Congratulations to all the match officials appointed to the Grand Final:

Referee: Isabella Cooper

Assistant Referee 1: Maddy Allum

Assistant Referee 2: Paula Orlandi

Fourth Official: Molly Godsell

Fifth Official: Danielle Anderson

Referee Coach: Renae Coghill

Football NSW would also like to congratulate the following match officials, who featured during the A-League Women’s 2025 Finals Series:

Bec Mackie (Manly-Warringah Football Referees Association) was appointed to both first and second leg semi-final matches for the 2025 ALW Finals series (at Industree Group Stadium, Central Coast and the Home of the Matildas, Melbourne). An experienced match official on the ALW (joining the national panel in 2020) this is the second year in a row Mackie has been involved in finals football on the national stage.

Alexis Johnson’s appointment to the first leg semi-final match between Adelaide United and Melbourne Victory was another milestone for Johnson, who made her A-League Women’s debut a little over a year ago in February 2024. Originally from Nepean Referees Group, Johnson has previously been named Assistant Referee of the Year in NSW and is a graduate of the Football Australia Referee Academy; her consistent performances on ALW matches during the 24/25 season earned her a first finals call up.

Maggie Price (Canterbury Referees Association) featured in the elimination final between Adelaide United and Western United in Adelaide during the 24/25 series. A top performer on the national panel, Price has previously been involved in the Grand Final as a Fourth Official in 2022, and Assistant Referee in 23/24.

Godsell, Allum, Mackie, Johnson and Price are all graduates of the Football NSW Referees Academy and members of the FNSW Referees Branch.

Congratulations to all match officials.
