Football NSW Metro and Country squads confirmed for 2025 Emerging Socceroos Championships

Football NSW has confirmed the players set to represent the Metro and Country teams in the 2025 Emerging Socceroos Championships to be held at the Home of the Matildas in Melbourne in July.
The tournament, formally known as the National Youth Championships, will take place over six days from 6 – 11 July 2025, showcasing the top Under 15 and Under 16 male footballers from across the country.
The Emerging Socceroos Championships are a key event in the Australian football calendar, featuring teams from Football Australia’s nine State and Territory Member Federations competing for the national title and showcasing their skills to national team technical staff.
As part of Football Australia’s talent identification pathway, the Championships play an important role in player development, with many current Subway Socceroos beginning their journey at this tournament.
Players like Nathan Burns, Brett Emerton, Rhyan Grant, Harry Kewell, Joel King, Hayden Mathews, Lucas Neill, Josh Nisbet and Luke Wilkshire have all progressed through the Emerging Socceroos Championships pathway just to name a few.
“We’re proud to announce our State Team selections and look forward to seeing these talented players test themselves against the best in the country,” said Football NSW’s Player Development Manager for Boys Phil Myall.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase their ability on the national stage and push for potential selection in future Joeys squads.”
