Eastern Suburbs Football Association to Celebrate 100-Year Milestone in 2025

The 2025 season marks a special year for the Eastern Suburbs Football Association (ESFA) who will be proudly celebrating its 100th year of existence.
In recent seasons, ESFA has experienced significant growth with a 10% increase in participation.
In 2024, the Association reached a record high, surpassing 10,000 registered players across its 24 member clubs — a powerful reflection of football’s continued strength in the region.
To mark the Association’s historic milestone, ESFA will host a Centenary Gala Dinner on Thursday, 25th September 2025. The event will bring together past and present members of the ESFA community to honour a century of grassroots football and recognise the clubs, volunteers, and leaders who have contributed to its ongoing success.
As part of the celebrations, ESFA has unveiled a commemorative suite of centenary logos each inspired by the Association’s proud history and the clubs that form its foundation.
“Reaching 100 years is a remarkable milestone for ESFA,” said ESFA President Greg Overton.
“It’s a testament to the enduring passion, commitment, and community spirit that have defined football in the Eastern Suburbs for generations.
“This centenary is not just about looking back — it’s about celebrating the people, clubs, and moments that have built our legacy, and setting the foundation for the next century of the beautiful game.”
ESFA CEO John Boulous was appreciative of the efforts as well as hardworking achievements of the Association’s clubs, administrators and volunteers.
“This is an exciting time for the Association, and I look forward to connecting with our clubs, Life Members, and past Presidents over the coming months.
“Together, we’ll celebrate the achievements and personalities who have made ESFA what it is today.”
More details on the Centenary events and activities will be announced in the coming months.
