Round 14 Preview – League One Women’s

Round 14 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition starts the second chapter of the season as teams jostle for positions on the ladder.
There are six games to run the rule over including the Match of the Round between Central Coast Mariners FC and SD Raiders FC.
Let’s get onto the preview.
Match of the Round: Central Coast Mariners vs SD Raiders FC, Sunday June 1, 5pm, Pluim Park
Central Coast Mariners FC host SD Raiders FC down at Pluim Park for the Match of the Round on Sunday afternoon.
The Mariners were cruelled by the wet weather again as their clash against South Coast Flame FC was washed out.
They did have a game in the mid-week, beating Marconi Stallions FC 2-1 to pick up three important points.
Matilda Gallagher was a goal scorer in the result and she might be an important cog in the side going forward.
SD Raiders FC were dominant in their 7-0 win against Blacktown Spartans FC at Ernie Smith Reserve last weekend.
Taiana Almeida made a goal scoring return to the side with a brace in her first appearance since Round 7.
Alongside her, Sarah Mandile has been a dependable option up front for SD Raiders FC and ready to fire again.

Nepean FC vs Blacktown Spartans FC, Sunday June 1, 5pm, Cook Park
Nepean FC face off against Blacktown Spartans FC in their game at Cook Park on Sunday afternoon.
Heading into this game, Nepean FC were beaten 3-1 by Inter Lions FC down at Majors Bay Reserve.
Gemma Morgan did find the back of the net in the loss and looks to add to her tally for the season.
Nepean FC will take some confidence into this clash after beating Blacktown Spartans in their last meeting in the Sapphire Cup.
Blacktown Spartans FC lost 7-0 to high flying SD Raiders FC in their game at Ernie Smith Reserve last Sunday.
Spartans introduced themselves this season with a 3-0 win against Nepean FC back in Round 1 so they will be keen to repeat the dose.
Aoife Murdock played in that win and returned to the starting side last week which will give the Spartans a boost.
Blacktown City FC vs Inter Lions FC, Sunday June 1, 5pm, Landen Stadium
Blacktown City FC take on Inter Lions FC in an intriguing game at Landen Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts had a solid 2-1 result against Camden Tigers FC in their travels to Ron Dine Reserve last weekend.
Defender Rhea D’Mello has shown a knack to pop up for goals for Blacktown City FC tallying twice in their last three games.
Coach Michael Hawthorne was pleased with both their performances last week and hopefully it can be a springboard for them to surge in the second half.
Inter Lions FC put together a wonderful performance in their 3-1 success against Nepean FC on home turf.
Tall striker Elena Antic found the back of the net in the result and her work up front has been important for Inter Lions FC this season.
Custodian Amalia Orphanides has had a solid season for Inter Lions FC and she will be ready to make some key saves on Sunday.
Camden Tigers FC vs Marconi Stallions FC, Sunday June 1, 5pm, Ron Dine Reserve
Camden Tigers FC welcome Marconi Stallions FC to Ron Dine Reserve for a big clash on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers were beaten 2-1 by Blacktown City FC in their game at Ron Dine Reserve last weekend.
Montanna Taff equalized for the Tigers before they were defeated and give them another goal scoring option in the side.
Camden Tigers were beaten in the previous clash between the two sides and looking to make amends on home turf.
Marconi Stallions FC had the bye on the weekend and were beaten in their mid-week catch up against Central Coast Mariners FC.
Pene Bonovas leads the way in goal scoring for Marconi Stallions and she is hoping to add to her seven goals for the season.
Behind her, Helena Danielle and Marie Herrera have the backbone to the Stallions midfield this season.
Bankstown City Lions FC vs St George FC, Sunday June 1, 5pm, Jensen Park
Bankstown City Lions FC face off against St George FC down at Jensen Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions had a last gasp 1-0 win against Sutherland Strikers FC to make it three games unbeaten.
Kahtia Bedano was the match winner and the defender has helped the Lions to back-to-back clean sheets.
They were beaten 5-0 in the Round 1 fixture against the Grand Finalists and Bankstown City Lions FC are ready to turn the tide.
St George FC went down 1-0 to Hills United FC in the Match of the Round last weekend at Valentine Sports Park.
Tayla Cvetkovski was the metronome in the middle for St George FC and she will be looking to show off her passing range again on Sunday.
Another St George FC player who has played an underrated role this season is Jaslyn Moore who will be pushing forward for goals in this clash.
Hills United FC vs South Coast Flame FC, Sunday June 1, 5:30, Valentine Sports Park
Hills United FC round off the weekend against South Coast Flame FC at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday evening.
The hosts were 1-0 winners against St George FC in last week’s Match of the Round also at Valentine Sports Park.
It is a big weekend for attacker Bianca Galayini. She becomes the first Hills United women to reach the century and hasn’t missed a minute since their inception.
She was praised for her dedication to the club by her coach Alan Tasses and is one of the key contributors in the side.
South Coast Flame FC had their game against Central Coast Mariners FC washed out at Pluim Park.
The Flame have plenty of quality in their side to challenge the leaders including sharpshooter Bessie Riethmuller.
This is a big game for South Coast Flame FC who need to start building some results to tart their challenge for the top four.
