Football NSW is proud to announce its ongoing support of the Female Para Football Program thanks to the NSW Office of Sport’s NSW Football Legacy Program and the Australian Government’s Department of Health and Aged Care’s Play Our Way Program.

This innovative player identification and development program aims to further foster inclusion, talent development, and pathway opportunities for female athletes with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury (ABI), and stroke-related symptoms.

The Football NSW Female Para Program launched in 2019, will serve as a vital stepping stone within Football Australia’s ParaMatilda pathway, dedicated to empowering women with disabilities to participate in football at all levels. The additional investment will kick off with engaging ‘come and try’ session and meet and greet with the CommBank ParaMatildas. This session is designed to introduce new players to the sport and will be followed by monthly training sessions held at the Home of Football in NSW, Valentine Sports Park.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide more resources and investment in this program, which aligns with our commitment to creating inclusive football environments and providing pathways for women with disabilities,” said Hayley Todd, Head of Women’s Football.

“Our goal is to identify talent early, support their development, and inspire more women to experience the joy of football.”

All interested female players are encouraged to register their interest and join this exciting new chapter.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have previous experience, the Football NSW Female Para Program welcomes players of all skill levels eager to be part of a supportive community.

The first come and try session will be held at Valentine Sports Park on Saturday 14th June in conjunction with a ParaMatildas National Team camp.

Come down and try Parafootball and meet some of the ParaMatildas squad.

Together, we aim to break down barriers and build a more inclusive future for women in football.
