SD Raiders FC grab final Australia Cup Round of 32 spot

Football NSW League One Men’s side SD Raiders FC grabbed the headlines once more for securing the fourth and final Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32 spot following a heroic 2-1 victory over National Premier Leagues Men’s NSW side Blacktown City at Landen Stadium on Wednesday night.
The SD Raiders have become the NPL Men’s NSW slayers as not only did they knock off Cup specialists Blacktown City in Round 7, but they also defeated 2024 Premiers Rockdale Ilinden in Round 6 and the Wollongong Wolves in Round 5 in what’s been a memorable campaign for the South-Western Sydney club.
Noah Chianese opened the scoring for the visitors in the 11th minute as the upset looked good early on before Jak O’Brien restored parity for City scoring in the 23rd minute. It was to be SD Raiders moment however as in the 55th minute Mihael Marcic scored what ended up being the winner sending his side to the coveted next round.
The SD Raiders join fellow League One rivals Northern Tigers as well as APIA Leichhardt FC and Sydney United 58 who will represent Football NSW in the Australia Cup Round of 32 where they could face an A-League side.
Congratulations to each of the 4 clubs for their passage to the Round of 32.
Football Australia will announce the draw for the Round of 32 in due course.
