Football NSW Referees benefit from Sean Douglas Workshop

It was a Workshop to remember for a host of Football NSW referees as they took part in a recent seminar led by FIFA Technical Expert Sean Douglas hosted at Valentine Sports Park recently.
Along with the Football NSW Referees Branch Technical Unit (RTU) and Football NSW Referees Development Officers (RDOs), each official was treated to a high-quality session run by Douglas who is the E-Learning Development Manager for the Oceania Football Confederation as well as a key member of the FIFA Technical Expert Team
This specific and unique session offered an opportunity for each the officials to upskill themselves in referee education including how to facilitate learner-centred training sessions and enhance engagement in the classroom
“This workshop is just one part of the work Football NSW is doing to improve the capabilities of our referee educators,” said Football NSW’s Referees Development & Education Manger Emma Kocbek.
“Our branch coaches are often trying to teach and engage match officials across a range of demographics and qualification levels, so this workshop focused on skills and strategies to be able to create a safe learning environment where our match officials can actively engage and grow.”
