Valentine Sports Park is set to host two cracking Football NSW Winter Futsal League Semi-Finals with four teams hungry to book its tickets to the big dance next weekend.

The first match will see the Mascot Vipers face UTS Northside at 6pm while the second game will feature the Mountain Majik taking on the Sydney Allstars at 7:30pm.

The Mountain Majik will especially be keen on getting to the final and will have a weapon in A-League Women’s and NPL Women’s NSW star Bethany Gordon lining up on Saturday.

Gordon has used Futsal as great way to refining her skills as she continues her journey as a footballer.

“I’ve enjoyed returning to Futsal after a few years away from the game.

“Futsal has brought so many benefits to my game and the Winter Futsal League provides the environment for me to continue to learn and grow as a player, alongside some quality players and coaches.

“The Winter Futsal League has brought me comfort knowing the league is developing the young futsal players of the future.”

Gordon isn’t the only star set to make an impact in this Saturday’s semis, Mascot Vipers will have their very own superstar in Trudy Camilleri hoping to use all her experience in steering the side to glory against UTS Northside.

Camilleri, like Gordon, has loved her time returning to futsal stating how great its been for her development as a footballer.

“I have enjoyed playing in the Winter Futsal League.

“It’s been an ultra-competitive competition and I’m very happy to see that it’s up and running with teams and new people – It has been my highlight of the week, every week.

“Futsal has many benefits and has helped me with my technical side of my game along with, fast thinking, transition moments and working at a high tempo for a longer period of time.

“Futsal gives you no time to care about a mistake, it is about your reaction and reacting quickly, thinking faster and smarter. It has helped with individual decisions and encourages players to take players on.

“I encourage all ages, all levels, boys and girls, men and women to play as I do believe it assists with your overall health, wellbeing and improves your own skill and overall game. I guarantee it will take your game to the next level.”

Both matches will be streamed live and exclusive on Football NSW’s YouTube channel.
