Football NSW recently held its Girls Talent Support Program (GTSP) tournament for 2011 born players at Valentine Sports Park during the July School Holidays.

It was a fantastic overview on how each team have continued with the objective of developing future female football players.

“These players participated in the program during term two and to see them apply everything they have learnt in the program at the tournament was extremely rewarding,” said Football NSW’s Player Development Manager for the Girls Nadine Shiels.

“There was some excellent football on display, and it was an overall fantastic experience for all involved.

“Our Regional NSW TSP team was involved in the tournament and was great for them to experience some challenging matches and provide learning experiences for both coaches and players.”

The Central Coast Mariners and Western Sydney Wanderers also took part in the tournament which significantly added to the level of football throughout the day, with Western Sydney Wanderers taking out team of the day.

Football NSW are extremely grateful for both academies participation in the tournament. It provided a meaningful challenging environment for all players and teams involved.

Football NSW would like to recognise the following players on their achievements at the tournament:

  • Player of the Tournament – Chelsea Chapman (Nepean FC)
  • Goalkeeper of the Tournament – Estelle Tsilinikos (Sydney Olympic FC)

The Girls TSP term three will commence on 5th August for 2010 and 2011 born players.
