Round 21 Preview – League One Women’s
Round 21 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition offers up some tantalising fixtures to sink our teeth into for the upcoming weekend.
There are six games on the docket including games which might shake up the top four including the Match of the Round between Marconi Stallions FC and South Coast Flame FC.

Match of the Round: Marconi Stallions FC vs South Coast Flame FC, Sunday 20 July, 5pm, Marconi Stadium
Marconi Stallions FC hosts South Coast Flame FC in their game at Marconi Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Stallions will be keen to get back on the winning horse after their 5-0 defeat to Hills United FC last weekend.
Both Sarah Urquhart and Marie Herrera have a knack for important goals for the Stallions and they will be central to getting three points.
They will want to brush off that result and pick up three points against a fellow contender and cement their top four status.
South Coast Flame FC kicked off Round 20 with their 2-0 win against Nepean FC down at Sir Ian McLennan Oval.
Up front, Bessie Riethmuller has provided key goals for the Flame since her arrival and can help them ignite their finals charge.
Gemma Bishop has been a key piece in the Flame back line and she need to be on her game against the Stallions attack.
This result could go a long way to cementing either side’s ambitions of playing finals football in the 2025 campaign.

SD Raiders FC vs Inter Lions FC, Sunday 20 July, 3pm, Ernie Smith Reserve
SD Raiders FC welcome Inter Lions FC down to Ernie Smith Reserve for their game on Sunday afternoon.
The hosts won 3-1 against Sutherland Strikers FC in the Match of the Round at Harrie Denning Centre last weekend.
Erin Phelan has had a consistent run of starts the last month and topped it off with the third goal in the second place side’s success.
Inter Lions FC lost 1-0 to a determined Camden Tigers FC line-up at Majors Bay Reserve last weekend.
Striker Jenny Hughes has given a spark to the Inter Lions FC side and her work alongside Hannah Charak is key to getting a result.
In a big blow for the side, captain Zoe Katsionis will miss this game after being sent off in the second half of their loss to Camden.
St George FC vs Nepean FC, Sunday 20 July, 5pm, Barton Park
St George FC take on Nepean FC in their interesting game down at Barton Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Saints were held to a 2-2 draw in their clash against Central Coast Mariners FC at Pluim Park.
Both Danielle Rutstein and Janan Codmani have scored for fun this season and will be keen to add to their tallies on Sunday.
Headed into the final six weeks, St George FC need three points to throw themselves right back in the top four mix.
Nepean FC went down the highway and were beaten 2-0 by a red-hot South Coast Flame FC side last Saturday.
The visitors have put up some encouraging efforts in recent weeks which hopefully might lead them towards another big shift.
If they are to upset the applecart, Nepean FC will need keeper Jasmine Crouch to maintain her strong form.
Bankstown City Lions FC vs Blacktown City FC, Sunday 20 July, 5pm, Jensen Park
Bankstown City Lions FC hosts Blacktown City FC down at their home Jensen Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Lions freshened themselves up with a bye in Round 20 after their midweek 1-0 win against SD Raiders FC.
Krystallia Kallidakis has spearheaded the Lions attack in recent weeks and she will try to sniff out another goal on Sunday.
Alongside her, Natalie Moujalli adds to their attack and her combination with Kallidakis could see them pick up three points.
Honours were even in the derby between Blacktown City FC and Blacktown Spartans FC in their stalemate.
Midfielders Zoe Zaczek and Kalize Jarvis bring grunt to the Blacktown City FC side and should push them forward.
The visitors earned a last gasp draw in the reverse fixture so they will be keen to take turn it into a win on their travels.
Blacktown Spartans FC vs Hills United FC, Sunday 20 July, 5pm, Blacktown Football Park
Blacktown Spartans FC battle against Hills United FC at Blacktown Football Park on Sunday afternoon.
The Spartans had a 0-0 draw against local rivals Blacktown City FC in their clash at Landen Stadium.
For Spartans coach Lachlan Raymond, he will be pleased his young side kept a clean sheet and look to build on that against the leaders.
Angelique Lynch is a valuable member of the Spartans side and hopes to inspire her side on Sunday.
Hills United FC were 5-0 winners against Marconi Stallions FC at Marconi Stadium last Sunday afternoon.
Jess Wootton was a superb sub in the result scoring a goal and might give coach Alan Tasses more options late in any close games.
Another goal scorer in the win, Brooke Hastie is a key defender for the side and partners well with captain Aisling Davidson in the stout backline.
Camden Tigers FC vs Sutherland Strikers FC, Sunday 20 July, 5pm, Ron Dine Reserve
Camden Tigers FC face off against Sutherland Strikers FC at Ron Dine Reserve on Sunday afternoon.
The Tigers were 1-0 winners against Inter Lions FC in a tight game at Majors Bay Reserve last Sunday.
Ashlee Taff is often the link in the Tigers attacking moves and she can help them unlock the Strikers defence in this game.
Behind her, keeper Zarli Lakeman earned her second clean sheet of the season in the win and will be hungry for another at home.
Sutherland Strikers FC featured in the Match of the Round losing 3-1 to SD Raiders FC on home turf.
Attackers Keira Moukatas and Lily Warnes gave the Strikers energy last week and will aim to replicate that effort on Sunday.
It is a busy week for the Strikers with their Round 19 clash against Blacktown Spartans FC to be resumed after a lightning delay at 0-0 on Wednesday night.
