Foundation of Futsal commences at Football NSW
Football NSW recently hosted a successful Foundation of Futsal Coaching seminar at Valentine Sports Park.
As many as 15 coaches were provided the opportunity, led by George Lethbridge, Jordan Guerreiro, Brett Hewit and Peter Spathis as coach education tutors. The Foundation of Futsal course is aimed at volunteer parents and coaches working with novice players or players aged up to approximately twelve (12) years old.
In the course, the participants covered the basics of futsal as well as learning about coaching process and setting a fun and positive environment during this course.
The course was entirely practical and allowed all coaches to participate in real-life training sessions and also participating in group discussions with the goal of exchanging experiences.
“I was impressed with the calibre of coaches involved in the course and their interest in the futsal pathways,” said George Lethbridge.
“Working with a different variety of levels to which the course will be involved in, ranging from senior player coaches to juniors and including school teachers,” Lethbridge ended.
“ It was great to see high quality discussions and experiences shared amongst the group, where they expressed the values of what these coaches wanted to get off the course,” said Football NSW Futsal Manager Jordan Guerreiro.
“The group together provided each other support and feedback on real life scenarios of situations in training where coaches may have been stuck on a problem, where they were then shown in a roleplay session to showcase potential solutions to solve it,” he ended.
