Football NSW recently hosted a special match officials session featuring referees from the Scottish Football Association and Irish Football Association, who are currently in Australia to officiate the Socceroos’ friendly international matches against New Zealand.

The match officials, along with Football Australia’s Head of Referees, Jon Moss and General Manager of Elite Refereeing Alan Shortall, visited Valentine Sports Park to present to Football NSW Referees Branch match officials on their pathway to becoming elite referees as well as advice for handling match incidents.

Over 70 match officials from NSW attended the session to meet and hear from Don Robertson (SCO), Chris Rae (SCO), Stephen Bell (NIR), Gavin Duncan (SCO) and Ryan Lee (SCO).

Football NSW would like to thank Football Australia Referees Department for facilitating the opportunity and to the international match officials for sharing their experiences and knowledge.
