One of the most iconic tournaments in New South Wales football is back in full swing as Round 2 of the 2025 Football NSW Champion of Champions kicks off this weekend, continuing a rich tradition of celebrating the very best in community football.

First established in 1968, the Champion of Champions has long been regarded as Football NSW’s most prestigious grassroots knockout tournament, where Association champion teams go head-to-head in a true battle of champions.

With age groups spanning from Under 13s to Over 45s across boys, girls, men’s and women’s divisions, the competition brings together top sides from across the state—each having earned the right to represent their Association after meeting strict eligibility and performance criteria.

Every year, the tournament shines a spotlight on the depth of talent and passion at the grassroots level, offering clubs and players a chance to compete on a state-wide stage. For many, it’s the pinnacle of their community football journey—a chance to create memories, build club pride, and etch their names in the history books.

This year, all roads lead to Valentine Sports Park for the much-anticipated Finals where champions will be crowned and legacies forged.

“The Champion of Champions is not just a tournament—it’s a celebration of community football at its best,” said Football NSW’s Competitions Coordinator Kim Burge.
“For over five decades, it has brought together clubs from all corners of the state, highlighting the strength, spirit, and unity of grassroots football.”

With Round 1 kicking off on Sunday 14 September, teams across NSW have already begun their campaigns. Now, heading into Round 2 on Sunday 21 September, the competition is heating up, as the field begins to narrow and dreams of silverware come into sharper focus.

As clubs continue their march toward the finals, the 2025 Champion of Champions tournament once again promises thrilling football, passionate support, and unforgettable moments—all rooted in the community spirit that defines football in New South Wales.
