This Sunday, the Northern Beaches will be proudly represented on one of NSW community football’s biggest stages, as six clubs from the Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA) compete in the Champion of Champions Finals at Valentine Sports Park.

It’s the highest number of clubs from any single association in the 2025 tournament — a fact that speaks volumes about the thriving football culture on the Northern Beaches.

“Very proud — it’s a fantastic reflection of the strength and depth of football across the Northern Beaches,” said MWFA CEO Vicki Halpin.

“To have so many of our teams performing at this level is a real testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, and volunteers who put so much time and passion into their clubs.”

With six clubs featuring two from Belrose-Terrey Hills Raiders (15 Boys, 17 Boys), two from Wakehurst FC (Over 45 Men’s, U16 Girls), one from Collaroy Cromer Strikers (21 Men’s) and one from Mosman FC (All Age Mens) earning their place in the coveted finals, MWFA continues to set a benchmark for grassroots football success in NSW.

Halpin has credited much of the association’s recent success to its focus on quality development and strategic investment in football pathways.

“As an association we have invested heavily in education, coach development, and creating clear pathways that allow our players and teams to thrive,” she explained.

“Our clubs have also built strong player development programs and provide additional training opportunities with locally based coaches, Men’s Premier League and Women’s Premier League players, and former representative players.”

This approach has helped to elevate standards across all levels of competition, ensuring players and teams are well-prepared for high-pressure tournaments like Champion of Champions.

Beyond the grassroots, MWFA’s close relationship with local National Premier Leagues club Manly United has been a key driver of long-term player growth and success.

“I’d also like to recognise the collaboration between the MWFA and Manly United,” Halpin added.

“That shared commitment to growing the game and developing players locally is what makes the MWFA one of the strongest associations within Football NSW.”

As the finals approach, the MWFA community will be out in force to support their teams — a reflection of the unity, passion, and footballing talent that continues to flourish across the Northern Beaches.
