Football NSW has named Box Hill Rangers AFC from Hills Football as its Club Changer Club of the Month for March, recognising the club’s outstanding commitment to creating a positive environment for players, officials, and supporters.

Club Changer is Football Australia’s Club Development Program which aims to protect and enhance clubs to make them stronger and more resilient while planning for long-term sustainability and success.

Nikki Riddle, Member Services Manager at Hills Football, praised Box Hill and the Club Changer program.

“Box Hill Rangers AFC has placed a strong focus on the early participation stages, ensuring young players are receiving the appropriate foundations of football and families feel welcomed and supported from day one.

“At the same time, Rangers have made female participation a key priority, aligning themselves with Hills Football player development programs and the Football Australia Club Changer Program to strengthen inclusive practices and create clear pathways for girls and women in the game.

“With eight 1-star clubs and two 2-star clubs, Hills Football continues to show strong engagement with Club Changer and urges those clubs yet to engage to consider doing so.”

Lisa Macklin, Club President and Registrar, was also appreciative of the support of Club Changer and Hills Football.

“Over the past three years, the club has more than tripled its player numbers, with growth continuing in 2026. Our club has been very deliberate about growing sustainably – ensuring that as participation increases, the strong sense of community and connection that defines the Rangers remains at the centre of everything we do.

“Being in a highly diverse, multicultural community, the club has also made it a priority to build ‘football literacy’ – helping new players and families from all backgrounds understand, enjoy and thrive in the game, and as part of a community club – so that everyone feels welcomed and included.

“Looking ahead, the club is excited about our next chapter. With a new home ground expected within the next 12 months, we are planning for the next phase of our growth and are focused on expanding opportunities for players of all backgrounds and abilities.

“The club is also working towards our 2-star Club Changer accreditation with Football NSW, helping to map out the next 6-12 months and to support our ambition to not simply grow for numbers, but to become a genuine club of choice within the local area.”

Football NSW’s Program Manager for Club Development, Trevor Huxley, commended the club’s forward-thinking approach.

“It’s great to see a club with such growth potential planning ahead with clear structures in place to ensure long-term sustainability and success.”
