Football NSW has announced the appointment of Alison Lloyd as Head Coach of its Female Para Football Program, following a highly competitive recruitment process.

Lloyd brings a strong coaching background and a proven commitment to inclusive football, with her appointment reflecting Football NSW’s continued focus on expanding opportunities for women and girls of all abilities to participate and succeed in the game.

Joining her in the program is Ellie Kerr, who has been named Assistant Coach. Kerr currently serves as Football NSW’s Diversity, Inclusion and Club Development Coordinator and is widely experienced in inclusive participation and community engagement. Her work with Football4all clubs and participants across the state is expected to further strengthen the program.

The Female Para Football Program provides vital pathways for players with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy (CP), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), and stroke-related impairments. The appointments mark a significant step forward as the program continues to grow both in participation and performance.

Football NSW Head of Community & Member Services Aaron Dibdin highlighted the broader impact of the initiative.

“The Football NSW Female Para Football Program gives players with CP, ABI and stroke-related symptoms more than just access to the game, it provides belonging, confidence and a high-performance environment where female athletes are supported to reach their full potential,” Dibdin said.

Head of Women’s Football Hayley Todd emphasised the importance of strong development pathways.

“State-based programs like this are vital in creating a clear pathway from grassroots participation to national team representation, ensuring talented female players with disability are identified, developed and prepared for international success,” Todd said.

Football NSW also acknowledged the high calibre of applicants throughout the selection process and thanked all candidates for their contribution to the growth of women’s para football.

With Lloyd and Kerr at the helm, the program is set to enter an exciting new phase, focused on fostering an inclusive, empowering environment while continuing to deliver strong development and performance outcomes.
