Round 12 Preview – League One Women’s
Round 12 in the Football NSW League One Women’s competition brings another exciting weekend of action and the final week of Female Football Week, which will help teams gain position in the chase for the top four.
There are six games to run the rule over coming up on Sunday, headlined by the Match of the Round between Marconi Stallions FC and Camden Tigers FC.

Match of the Round: Marconi Stallions FC vs Camden Tigers FC, Sunday 17 May, 5pm, Marconi Stadium #2
Marconi Stallions FC host Camden Tigers FC in their Match of the Round clash at Marconi Stadium #2 on Sunday night.
The Stallions have been on a good roll recently and, fresh from their bye in Round 11, will look to continue that momentum.
Jasmyn Windsor has been in brilliant form for the Stallions, with three goals in her last five appearances.
Fresh from keeping a clean sheet against the former leaders, custodian Elizabeth Kerkham will be ready to repel the Tigers’ attack.
Camden Tigers FC were beaten 3-1 by Newcastle Jets FC in their game at Ron Dine Reserve last weekend.
Their goalscorer was Trinity Gibson, who opened her account for the season and will be keen to find the back of the net again.
The Tigers put up a good fight against the Jets and coach Jamie Jones will want a similar performance from his side in Bossley Park.

SD Raiders FC vs Blacktown Spartans FC, Sunday 17 May, 3pm, Ernie Smith Reserve
SD Raiders FC take on Blacktown Spartans FC at Ernie Smith Reserve on Sunday afternoon.
The leaders remain on top of the ladder after their 4-2 win against Central Coast Mariners FC on the coast.
Christina Putrus equalised for SD Raiders FC, sparking their turnaround and showing the quality across the whole side.
At the back, captain Jessica Neville has been the metronome for the SD Raiders FC side and will sweep up a lot of danger near goal.
Blacktown Spartans FC fell to a 3-1 loss to Sutherland Strikers FC in last week’s Match of the Round contest.
Inserted into the starting side in the last fortnight, Maja Prostan put in a good shift for the Spartans in defeat.
Gemma Woolley underlined her threat in front of goal with a curling effort that brought it back to 1-1 last week, making her someone for the hosts’ defence to keep an eye on.
South Coast Flame FC vs St George FC, Sunday 17 May, 3:15pm, Sir Ian McLennan Oval
South Coast Flame FC welcome St George FC to Sir Ian McLennan Oval for a Sunday fixture in Kembla Grange.
The Flame showed grit in their 1-1 draw against Bankstown City Lions FC at Jensen Park on Sunday evening.
Jessie Abbott is a central figure in midfield for South Coast Flame FC and is always a dependable option for coach Daniel Naumovski.
Up front, Bessie Riethmuller and Abbey Crapp will be a handful for the Saints’ defence and will keep some breathing room on the chasing pack for fourth.
St George FC were pegged back late in their 1-1 draw against Nepean FC at Barton Park last weekend.
Saints coach Mark Greenfield will be wondering what his side has to do for a win after the late equaliser and will hope this week can be the start of a turnaround.
They have been besieged by injuries but still have class performers in Jordan Baker and Kyla Vanderlaan who can find the back of the net.
Blacktown City FC vs Bankstown City Lions FC, Sunday 17 May, 5pm, Landen Stadium
Blacktown City FC take on Bankstown City Lions FC at Landen Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
They will want to get back in the winner’s circle after their 3-1 loss to Inter Lions FC at Majors Bay Reserve last weekend.
While it was a loss, there was a big highlight for Layla Hamden, who scored directly from a corner and continued to build her goal tally.
Exciting prospect Isabella Rodrique was a big signing for Blacktown City FC and will be ready to fire on her home ground.
Bankstown City Lions FC held a potent South Coast Flame FC side to a 1-1 draw at Jensen Park last Sunday.
Samantha Payne celebrated her return to the side with a goal, and the defender will be an asset at both ends of the pitch for the Lions.
Willoe Poriters came off the bench for her debut in the draw and will be primed to get further minutes for the side going forward.
Nepean FC vs Sutherland Strikers FC, Sunday 17 May, 5pm, Jamison Park Field 1
Nepean FC face off against Sutherland Strikers FC at Jamison Park Field 1 on Sunday night.
The hosts struck late in a 1-1 draw to earn a share of the points against St George FC at Barton Park.
Tiana-Louise Barton once again showed her prowess at a set piece, sweeping home the equaliser, and will be a threat from all corners.
Nepean FC have picked up points against some top sides this season and will look to gather another three points to remain in touch with the top four.
Sutherland Strikers FC shone in front of the cameras with a 3-1 Match of the Round win against Blacktown Spartans FC.
Ami Takitani announced herself with a stunning strike to give the Strikers a lead and was full of running across her time on the pitch.
It wasn’t the only spectacular strike, with Ebony Freeman’s first-time finish showing off her attacking instincts in front of goal.
Inter Lions FC vs Central Coast Mariners FC, Sunday 17 May, 7pm, Majors Bay Reserve
Inter Lions FC host Central Coast Mariners FC in the final game of the round at Majors Bay Reserve on Sunday night.
The Lions put in an impressive performance in their 3-1 win against Blacktown City FC on home turf.
Kiara Coscia put the icing on the Inter Lions FC win with her goal and relished a starting role last weekend.
Coach John Di Biase was full of praise for his side after the win and will want them to back it up against the Mariners.
Central Coast Mariners FC scored first before being beaten 4-2 by SD Raiders FC at Pluim Park.
Peyton Scollay got on the scoresheet in the loss and gives the youth side another string to their attacking bow.
Alongside her, Annabel Goodman has linked up well with the rest of the Mariners’ front three, making them a big threat.
