Round 7 Set to Deliver Cup Fireworks as Hahn Australia Cup Race Heats Up
The Round 7 Hahn Australia Cup Preliminary Round fixtures have been confirmed following Friday’s draw, with four high-stakes clashes now set to decide which teams will progress to the coveted Round of 32.
The winners will secure a place at the national stage of the Hahn Australia Cup, where they will not only face the strongest clubs from other Member Federations but also have the opportunity to test themselves against A-League opposition.
Blacktown City FC, Sydney United 58, APIA Leichhardt FC, Rockdale Ilinden, SD Raiders FC, Wollongong United FC, Fraser Park FC and Sydney Olympic FC are all now just one win away from joining Australia’s elite in the Round of 32.
Landen Stadium will host a blockbuster encounter between Blacktown City FC and Sydney United 58 in what shapes as one of the standout fixtures of the round. Both clubs have a strong history in the competition and are well known for their ability to mount deep cup runs.
Sydney United 58 hold the record for Football NSW representation in the Round of 32 with eight appearances, and will be aiming to push that number to nine. Blacktown City FC, meanwhile, will be targeting their seventh appearance.
With Sydney United 58 in strong form in the NPL Men’s NSW competition and Blacktown City steadily building momentum in a challenging 2026 campaign, this fixture has all the ingredients for a classic cup night where form often goes out the window.
At Lambert Park, APIA Leichhardt FC will meet Rockdale Ilinden in another heavyweight clash between two NPL Men’s NSW sides.
APIA continue to set the pace at the top end of the league and have a proud history in the competition, having reached the Round of 32 on six occasions. A win here would see them qualify for a seventh appearance.
Rockdale Ilinden, last featured in the Round of 32 in 2024, arrive with motivation of their own and the ability to cause problems for any opponent on their day. Paul Dee’s side will be eager to derail APIA’s momentum and secure a famous cup victory in the Inner West.
Ernie Smith Reserve will play host to SD Raiders FC and Wollongong United FC in a compelling contest between NPL Men’s NSW opposition and the last remaining Association club in the competition.
SD Raiders FC will be aiming to secure just their second-ever Round of 32 appearance after featuring last year, and will enter as strong contenders on home soil.
Wollongong United FC, representing Football South Coast, have already made their mark in the competition and famously reached the Round of 32 in 2022. The Illawarra Premier League side will be determined to produce another famous cup upset and write a new chapter in their history.
The final fixture sees Fraser Park FC face Sydney Olympic FC in what promises to be a fascinating David vs Goliath encounter at this stage of the competition.
Fraser Park FC, representing Football NSW League Two Men’s, have never reached the Round of 32 and will see this as a historic opportunity to create the biggest result in their cup history.
Sydney Olympic FC, meanwhile, will be looking to avoid an upset as they continue their push in the NPL Men’s NSW competition. The Blues last featured in the Round of 32 in 2021 and a win here would see them return for a fourth appearance, while also providing a significant boost to the club’s momentum.
All four matches will be streamed live and exclusively on Football NSW’s YouTube channel, with fixtures scheduled across 26, 27 and 28 May, with exact times to be confirmed.
The road to the Hahn Australia Cup Round of 32 is now down to its final hurdle and just four winners will take the next step onto the national stage
A reminder that the four winners of these matches will also win a ticket to the 2026 Waratah Cup Semi-Finals with that draw set to take place following the round 7 Hahn Australia Cup matches.
