Regional Stars Shine At Football NSW TSP Game Days In Bathurst
Football NSW’s Talent Support Program (TSP) Regional Game Days brought together some of the state’s best emerging players from across regional NSW, with more than 300 young footballers taking part across two action-packed events at Proctor Park, Bathurst.
The Boys’ Game Day was held on Monday July 6, followed by the Girls’ Game Day on Friday July 10, with more than 150 players involved in each event.
Players and coaches from all TSP Regional Hubs joined together for a series of competitive matches, featuring representatives from regional association catchments as well as the Illawarra region.
The Game Days provided an important opportunity for players to test themselves against new opponents in a high-level environment, while allowing Football NSW coaching staff to assess talent beyond regular hub training and fixtures.
Alongside the matches, players took part in presentations focused on the Football NSW Game Model, delivered by Football NSW staff members Andrew Fearnley and Ricky Guihot, alongside TSP Regional coach Jarrah Fuz.
The events also provided valuable opportunities for regional referees to gain experience officiating high-level regional football fixtures.
Football NSW Regional Development Manager Andrew Fearnley highlighted the importance of the initiative in supporting the continued development of players across the state.
“ This was a great opportunity for myself and the coaching staff to assess the players in matches together in addition to their hub training and games, and a great opportunity for the players to challenge themselves in competitive matches,” Fearnley said.
The Game Days also recognised standout performances, with individual and team awards presented across the Under 14 and Under 15 Boys and Girls competitions.
