Mountain Majik Crowned Winter Futsal Champions After Extra-Time Thriller
Mountain Majik have been crowned the 2026 Football NSW Winter Futsal League Men’s Champions after defeating UTS Northside 6-5 in a thrilling extra-time Grand Final at Valentine Sports Park.
The dramatic decider brought the curtain down on a successful 2026 season, with both sides producing an unforgettable contest filled with momentum swings, quality finishing and late drama.
Mountain Majik made the perfect start, racing into an early lead through Jordan Guerreiro and Nicholas Bakopoulos, who struck quickly to put their side ahead.
UTS Northside responded through Reginal Hore-Gibson, who reduced the deficit to 2-1 and gave his side belief heading into the remainder of the contest.
The second half began at a frantic pace, with Hemi Innes bringing UTS level straight after the restart before putting his side ahead with his second goal of the match.
However, Guerreiro once again stepped up for Majik, scoring his second of the night to bring the scores level.
The momentum swung back towards Mountain Majik when an own goal from Danny Beauchamp restored their advantage and looked to have placed them on the path to championship glory.
Just when it appeared Majik had done enough, UTS Northside refused to surrender. Kyle Devine produced a dramatic late equaliser, forcing the match into extra-time after the teams finished locked at 4-4.
With the championship on the line, Guerreiro delivered a performance worthy of the occasion. The Majik star took control of the contest, scoring twice more in extra-time to complete a remarkable four-goal Grand Final haul.
UTS continued to fight until the final whistle, with Luke Marcus Moscos scoring to bring the score back to 6-5, but it proved too little too late as Mountain Majik held on to claim the 2026 Football NSW Winter Futsal League Men’s Championship.
The victory capped off a memorable season for Mountain Majik and provided a fitting finale to a competition that showcased the quality, excitement and growth of futsal across NSW.
