Round 27 Preview – League Two Men’s

One month remains in the 2026 Football NSW League Two Men’s season and Round 27 will see the tight battle for second place continue.

The Match of the Round this week sees Mounties Wanderers FC return home as Premiers, looking to continue their celebrations when they host a Bankstown United FC side hoping to cause an upset.

Match of the Round: Mounties Wanderers FC vs Bankstown United FC

Friday, 7 August 2026 – 8pm, Cook Park (Mt Pritchard)

Premiers Mounties Wanderers FC will return home to Cook Park as champions for the first time this season, hoping to continue their title celebrations against Bankstown United FC, who will be out to spoil the occasion.

Mounties return from their bye last week, looking to win their twenty-first match from twenty-five this season as they chase down the 70-point mark and complete the league double over Bankstown.

A win for Mounties would take them to 65 points for the season, while a loss would be just their third of the year.

14^th-placed Bankstown United FC will hope to channel the energy from their previous away match to Mounties during the 2024 season, where they defeated Mounties 5-2, as they chase the teams just ahead of them on the ladder.

A win for Bankstown could see them rise one spot to 13^th, while a loss would keep them in 14^th.

With Mounties looking to celebrate their league title win at home and Bankstown hoping to play spoiler to those celebrations, both teams will look to work hard for the win.

Granville Rage vs Fraser Park FC

Thursday, 6 August 2026 – 8pm, Garside Park

7^th-placed Granville Rage will hope to keep their slim promotion hopes alive when they host Fraser Park FC, looking to get revenge after their 9-0 loss to them in the reverse fixture.

A win for Granville could see them rise to as high as 5^th and keep their promotion hopes alive, while a loss would all-but end their promotion chances and could see them drop one spot to 8^th.

3^rd-placed Fraser Park FC are looking to keep pace with 2^nd-placed Parramatta FC and will hope to complete the league double over Granville Rage to continue their pursuit.

A win for Fraser Park could see them rise into that all-important 2^nd spot, level with Parramatta FC on 45 points, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 3^rd and dent their promotion hopes.

South Coast Flame FC vs Parramatta FC

Saturday, 8 August 2026 – 3:15pm, Sir Ian McLennan Oval

9^th-placed South Coast Flame FC will hope to respond following back-to-back losses but will be hopeful after finding their clinical edge in front of goal last week.

A win for the Flame could see them rise one spot to 8^th, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 11^th.

2^nd-placed Parramatta FC continued to hold their three-point advantage over the chasing teams in the battle for promotion and will hope to defeat the Flame for the first time in seven attempts, their last win against them coming in Round 15 of the 2023 season.

A win for Parramatta would see them move to 48 points and could put them six points ahead of the chasing pack, while a loss could see them drop to 3^rd.

Sydney University SFC vs Nepean FC

Saturday, 8 August 2026 – 5pm, Sydney University Football Ground

8^th-placed Sydney University SFC will hope to respond from back-to-back losses as they look to get back into the top half of the ladder and complete the league double over Nepean.

A win for University could see them rise to as high as 6^th, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 9^th.

12^th-placed Nepean FC have lost six of their past seven matches but will hope to regroup and take down University away from home with Toby Witjes looking to add to his 18 goals for the season.

Hawkesbury City FC vs Central Coast United FC

10^th-placed Hawkesbury City FC will hope to snap a four-match losing streak and complete the league double over Central Coast United FC, looking to end their season on a high.

A win for Hawkesbury could see them rise one spot to 9^th, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 11^th.

6^th-placed Central Coast United FC will hope to build on back-to-back wins as they look to continue their charge for a top-half finish this season, with a slim hope of chasing 2^nd remaining.

Dunbar Rovers FC vs Gladesville Ryde Magic

13^th-placed Gladesville Ryde Magic have lost six-straight matches but will hope to keep fighting to end the season on a high, looking to shake up the battle for promotion.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC vs Camden Tigers FC

Saturday, 8 August 2026 – 7pm, Bonnyrigg Sports Club

4^th-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC got back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory away to Nepean FC last week and will hope to extend their five-match unbeaten streak, hoping to catch up to the teams ahead of them in the battle for promotion.

A win for Bonnyrigg would take them to 43 points, potentially two points behind 2^nd-placed Parramatta FC, and into 3^rd on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop to 5^th and dent their promotion chances.

15^th-placed Camden Tigers FC will be buoyed after winning their second match of the season last week and will hope to cause an upset to shake up the promotion race with a win over Bonnyrigg.

A win for Camden would see them earn back-to-back victories for the first time since Rounds 29 and 30 of the 2025 season, while a loss would be their first in three matches.

11^th-placed Inner West Hawks FC have a bye in Round 27.
