Round 29 Preview – League Two Men’s

L2-mens-nsw-match-of-the-round-preview

Parramatta FC are within touching distance of a 2nd-placed finish and a spot in the promotion/relegation playoff; they could wrap up that spot following Round 29’s action of the 2026 Football NSW League Two Men’s season.

That possibility is the focus of the Match of the Round, with Parramatta FC hoping to wrap up 2nd place against their only remaining challenger, Fraser Park FC.

Match of the Round: Fraser Park FC vs Parramatta FC

Friday, 21 August 2026 – 8pm, Fraser Park

Parramatta FC will hope to secure 2nd spot and a place in the promotion/relegation playoff when they travel to take on their final remaining challenger, Fraser Park FC.

3rd-placed Fraser Park FC kept their slim promotion hopes alive following a 2-1 win over Central Coast United FC last week but will need to overturn an 18-goal deficit in goal difference to Parramatta between their remaining two matches if they are to have any hope of finishing 2nd.

A win for Fraser Park would take the fight for 2nd to the final matchday, while a draw or a loss would see them fall out of contention and could see them drop to as low as 5th.

2nd-placed Parramatta FC took out another challenger for 2nd last week, defeating Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC in style 4-0, and will hope to wrap up 2nd place with one round of the regular reason to play.

A win or draw for Parramatta would see them confirm their 2nd place finish and a spot in the League One Men’s/League Two Men’s Promotion/Relegation playoff against either Prospect United FC, Western City Rangers FC or Newcastle Jets, while a loss would take the fight for 2nd to the final matchday.

A battle of 2nd vs 3rd for a second-straight week in the Match of the Round could see the long fight for a shot at promotion this season settled, with no shortage of passion expected in this match.

South Coast Flame FC vs Gladesville Ryde Magic

Saturday, 22 August 2026 – 4pm, Sir Ian McLennan Oval

9th-placed South Coast Flame FC will hope to go out winners in their final home match of the season, looking to win back-to-back matches for the first time since Rounds 23 and 24.

A win for the Flame could see them rise one spot to 8th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 10th.

13th-placed Gladesville Ryde Magic are also hunting back-to-back wins and will hope to do so for the first time since Rounds 19 and 20, hoping to grab a win in what is their final match of the season.

A win for Gladesville could see them rise to as high as 11th on the ladder, while a loss would keep them in 13th.

Hawkesbury City FC vs Mounties Wanderers FC

Saturday, 22 August 2026 – 5pm, David Bertenshaw Field

10th-placed Hawkesbury City FC will hope to win back-to-back matches for the first time since Rounds 16 and 17, with Aaron Peterson hoping to add to his 13 goals for the season against a side he scored a double against last season in the League One Men’s competition for Bonnyrigg.

A win for Hawkesbury could see them rise one spot to 9th on the ladder, while a loss would keep them in 10th.

Premiers Mounties Wanderers FC will hope to win a seventh-straight match and continue to give players opportunities to end the season, with one eye already looking forward to the task ahead in the League One Men’s competition next season.

A win for Mounties would be their twenty-third from twenty-seven matches this season, while a loss could be just their third of the year.

Central Coast United FC vs Nepean FC

Saturday, 22 August 2026 – 5pm, Pluim Park

7th-placed Central Coast United FC saw their three-match winning streak end last week following a drama-filled match and will hope to bounce back against a Nepean FC side they have defeated by a three-goal margin in both of their past two matches.

A win for Central Coast could see them rise one spot to 6th on the ladder, while a loss would see them remain 7th.

12th-placed Nepean FC will hope to snap a nine-match winless streak in their final away match of the season, with Toby Witjes looking to score his 20th goal of the season and continue his form as the league’s third-top goal scorer this season.

A win for Nepean could see them rise one spot to 11th, while a loss could see them drop one position to 13th.

A win for Granville could see them rise to as high as 4th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 7th.

Last-placed Camden Tigers FC will hope to return from their bye ready to take down Granville in their final away match of the season, hoping to defeat them away from home just as they did in the 2024 League Two Men’s season.

A win for Camden would be their first away win of the season and would be their third win overall, while a loss would see them finish the year without an away win.

Dunbar Rovers FC vs Bankstown United FC

Saturday, 22 August 2026 – 7pm, Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre

4th-placed Dunbar Rovers FC will hope to hunt down a fourth-straight win and extend their ten-match unbeaten streak, looking to also extend on their six-match unbeaten run at home and defeat Bankstown United FC for the first time in the League Two Men’s competition.

A win for Dunbar could take them up to 3rd, while a loss could see them drop to 5th.

14th-placed Bankstown United FC will hope to snap a three-match losing streak and win their first away match since Round 10, while also hoping to extend their unbeaten run against Dunbar in the head-to-head.

A win for Bankstown would see them have a chance of moving out on 14th in the final round of the season, while a loss would confirm their 14th-placed finish for 2026.

Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC vs Inner West Hawks FC

Saturday, 22 August 2026 – 7pm, Bonnyrigg Sports Club

5th-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC will hope to go out as winners in their final home match of the season, looking to complete the league double over Inner West Hawks FC.

A win for Bonnyrigg could see them rise to 3rd on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 6th.

11th-placed Inner West Hawks FC will hope to win back-to-back matches for the first time since Rounds 9 and 10, and back-to-back away matches for the first time since Rounds 6 and 4.

A win for Inner West would see them remain in 11th, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 13th.
