Football NSW Delivers First 2026 Futsal CPD Workshop
Football NSW has launched its 2026 Futsal Coach Professional Development (CPD) Program, providing coaches with valuable opportunities to further enhance their knowledge and continue developing within the game.
The first Futsal CPD workshop of the year was recently delivered for coaches preparing for the upcoming futsal season, with Football NSW Futsal Coach Education Tutors leading an engaging session focused on “Delivering Effective Team Talks.”
The workshop explored the importance of clear communication, adapting coaching messages to different match scenarios and understanding the unique demands of futsal compared to the traditional football environment.
Coaches were provided with practical insights into how they can adjust their approach during matchdays, ensuring their messages remain concise, effective and relevant within the fast-paced nature of futsal.
One participant highlighted the value of the session:
“The workshop was really good. The session gave me more of an understanding on how futsal and football environments can have different scenarios to be exposed to, which helps me better understand how concise and clear my message needs to be to my players on game day.”
Football NSW will continue its commitment to coach development with the next Futsal CPD workshop focusing on “2026 AFC Futsal Championships – Technical Analysis”.
The session will be held on Thursday, 22 October at Valentine Sports Park and will provide coaches with an opportunity to analyse high-level futsal trends, tactical approaches and technical elements from one of the biggest competitions in the sport.
