It was a successful 2016 Football NSW Futsal State Championships that took place across three venues over the course of the weekend as Valentine Sports Park, Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre and Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium played host to 189 teams and as many as 1,657 players.

With the sport of Futsal alive and kicking and continuing to grow and prosper, Futsal action was at an all-time high as all three venues were treated to some first class action.

Apart from teams recording memorable State Championship victories, players and teams increased from the 2015 tournament pushing the message that the sport of Futsal continues to hit its targets.

Emma Salzke, Football NSW’s Futsal Coordinator was delighted with the outcome on what was a fantastic weekend for the sport.

“The numbers don’t lie they speak for themselves, the fact that more teams and players took part in this year’s tournament states that Futsal continues to make in-roads in continuing on as one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

“We were treated to some wonderful action and hope that all our participants, officials and fans enjoyed their Futsal State Championship experiences.”
