Football Australia Launches Free Referee Wellbeing Webinar with Leading Sports Psychologist
Football Australia is continuing its commitment to supporting community match officials with the launch of a free online webinar focused on managing match day pressure.
The session forms part of Football Australia’s wider focus on improving the development, wellbeing and performance of referees at all levels of the game, ensuring officials are equipped with the tools to handle the demands of match day environments.
Led by Dr Liam Slack, a highly experienced high performance sports psychologist with more than 15 years working in elite sport, the webinar will explore strategies to help referees perform with clarity, composure and confidence in high-pressure situations.
The session will provide practical guidance on managing emotional responses during key match moments, staying mentally controlled when decisions are challenged, and recovering effectively after difficult calls on the field.
Open to all community match officials across Australia, the webinar is designed to be accessible and beneficial for referees at every stage of their officiating journey.
