Griffith teams move step closer to Bill Cullinan Cup Final berth

Most Metropolitan Association areas are very well represented and in fact dominate the semi-finalists with the one very noticeable exception in the All Age Men Bill Cullinan Cup where we saw Griffith City defeat Parklea 2-0 in one quarter final and then Yoogali (Griffith) humble the very confident Northbridge FC team in another quarter final.
These two great wins have seen the two Griffith sides (unfortunately) drawn to play each other in the semi final which will be staged as a major attraction in the Griffith area on Saturday night 26 June 2010 at Exies Oval , Griffith.  Both teams are very confident of victory and a place in the Bill Cullinan Cup Final at Valentine Sports Park on 18 July 2010 is the prize they will be playing for.
The other semi final will also be a ?local derby? between the highly fancied Gwawley Bay who recently reached Round 3 of the McDonald?s Cup with wins over State League opposition and the local Sutherland hot-shots, Menai Hawks.  This match will be played at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday 27 June 2010 at 5.00pm and will be the highlight of a full round of State Cup semi finals.
There will be many great games played in the semi-finals, given the very high standard of matches so far in this famous competition and the honors for representation at this stage, go to the AC United Club from Southern Districts and the Glenwood Redbacks Club from Blacktown with three teams each in the semis.
Another highlight will no doubt be the clash in the All Age Ladies with University of Wollongong coming off a great 9-2 victory last weekend which was played in front of the Womens Premier League Illawarra Stingrays match who are pitted against the highly fancied Brookvale ladies.  Cronulla RSL will play Lindfield in the other semi final.
The State Cup semi finals will be held at two venues this Sunday (27 June 2010), with three fields at Valentine Sports Park and three fields at Ray Marshal Reserve,
