First Nations Coach Scholarship

This scholarship is for First Nations coaches seeking a C or B Diploma.

This scholarship will provide a subsidy to go towards the cost of a coaching course.

To be eligible for a scholarship you must:

• be currently coaching and registered with a FNSW affiliated club;
• identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
• be 18 years or over;
• for the country scholarship, to be deemed a country coach you must be registered with a regional club;
• to be eligible for a C Diploma you must have a Foundation of Football qualification, and;
• to be eligible for a B Diploma you must have a C Diploma qualification.

Scholarship Breakdown

• 3 scholarships x $1,250 to go towards B-Diploma of $2,250
• 3 scholarships x $750 to go towards C-Diploma cost of $1,050
• 2 scholarships x $1,125 to go towards country C-Diploma cost of $1,050 and travel expenses

For each category of scholarship there will be at least 1 female and 1 male recipient.

Assessment Criteria

• Registration
• Football history
• Technical assessment (if deemed necessary by FNSW Technical Department)
• Application letter

Recipients of all scholarships will be recommended by the Football NSW Indigenous Advisory Group and accessed by FNSW staff. (Applications will be anonymised prior to assessment).
