First Nations Player Scholarship
This scholarship is for First Nations players in Youth League, all Youth League ages apply.
To be eligible for a scholarship you must:
- be currently registered with a FNSW affiliated club;
- identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
- be selected in a Youth League team, and;
- for the country scholarship, to be deemed a country player you must be registered with a regional club.
This scholarship will provide a subsidy to go towards player registration cost of Youth League. $1,500 to go towards registration will be managed with the club. A voucher will be provided to the recipient that can then be utilised when registering with the club. Football NSW will then manage payment with the club.
Scholarship breakdown:
- 5 x metro player scholarships
- 5 x country scholarships – registration assistance + travel expenses
There must be at least 2 females and at least 2 males for each of metro and country.
Applications will be assessed with regard to the below criteria:
- Registration;
- Football history;
- Technical assessment (if deemed necessary by FNSW Technical Department), and;
- Application letter.
Recipients of all scholarships will be recommended by the and accessed by FNSW staff.
Applications will be anonymised prior to assessment by FNSW staff and awarded as recommended by the Football NSW Indigenous Advisory Group.
