Legacy Programs: Leadership

Thanks to the support of the NSW Office of Sport and Football Australia, Football NSW has proudly delivered seven Women’s Leadership Programs since 2023, empowering more than 150 women from across New South Wales.

Our graduates represent every corner of the football community, including administrators, volunteers, coaches, referees, and media professionals, all committed to making a positive impact within the game.

The five-week program is designed for women who are currently working or volunteering in football, as well as those aspiring to take on leadership roles within the sport. Participants engage in weekly online learning, complemented by an immersive two-day leadership workshop that brings the cohort together to connect, collaborate and grow.

More than a leadership development program, this experience builds confidence, capability and lasting connections. Participants develop practical leadership skills, broaden their professional networks and become part of a supportive community of women who are empowered to lead, influence change and inspire others—both within football and beyond.
