Female Football Week
Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football.
The objective of Female Football Week is to drive female participation at all levels of the game.
2025 Female Football Week will be held from Friday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 11th.
Throughout the week Football NSW and our Associations/Clubs will be actively involved in the delivery of female football events including:
- Female Football Rounds
- Come + Try Sessions
- Free Skills Clinics
- Festival of Football
Female Football Week Awards
The Female Football Week Awards provide a valuable opportunity to recognise and celebrate the significant contributions of women and girls in football, highlighting the vital role they play in all aspects of the game. Now is the time to celebrate the exceptional female champions within your club by nominating them for one of the following categories:
- Female Player of the Year
- Female Coach of the Year
- Female Referee of the Year
- Female Volunteer of the Year
- Community Champion of the Year
Each category winner will receive a prize and will be nominated as Football NSW’s representative for the National Female Football Week Awards.
Nominations close Friday, April 18th.
Football NSW Events
Football NSW will be hosting a series of events during Female Football Week to support the various sectors of our football community.
- Monday, May 5th, 6:30pm to 8pm: Referee Panel at Valentine Sports Park
Additional events will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Event Submission
To celebrate Female Football Week, we invite Associations and Clubs to register your events.
By registering your come and try sessions, MiniRoos gala days, coaching courses, referee courses, mentoring events, schools’ gala days, Football NSW can advertise your event and support your event where possible. The first 80 associations and/or clubs to register will also receive special giveaways to distribute at their events, helping to make them even more memorable. We look forward to receiving your submission.

Festivities will start at 9 and continue on all day until approximately 5pm. Kicking the day off with a coffee cart for any women involved in football from players, players mothers, coaches, referees, managers etc. We are offering a cake stall all day, with a "photo wall" This stall is for mothers who miss out on photos with their little superstars who play, we are offering a to take a photo of the mother and their little one. We will have a jumping castle paid for, for the day, different food vans for example vietnamese van and an ice cream van, we will also offer face paiting, handing out females in football merch. We are letting the junior female players warm up with the Blayney womens team before the game with extra drills etc as something exciting for the juniors to show them that football continues on as long as you let it, it doesn't just end with junior football. We will have 2 boxes for people to put females names in through out the day, 1 of the boxes is for junior females involved in football and the other for senior women's involved in football, anyone can enter anyone who they think deserves a prize after their dedication to football, we will draw 2 names from each box at the end of the day as luck door prizes. We will acknowledge the importance females play in football throughout the whole day, we will have affirmation/gratitude cards to hand out throughout the day as well. We have locked in the day for a home game. Our whole point of the day is to have something for the female juniors but also offer things for the adult females involved to relax by having a coffee, letting the kids play on the jumping castle/face painting, not worrying about lunch with the option to purchase food from the food van, dessert from the ice cream van, a chance to take natural photos with their children that they usually miss out on because they are the ones usually taking the photos, having somewhere for their names to be recognised in the lucky door prizes |

Girls With Goals is a celebration of female participation in football, highlighting the important role girls and women play in our club and community. Throughout the day we will proudly display a Walk of Fame showcasing some of our female players, coaches, referees, and goalkeepers. Each female role model will have their photo, name, and role featured on individual stakes, forming an inspiring display for everyone attending. We will also create a Tunnel / Wall of Inspirational Messages, where female players from Picton Rangers and visiting clubs can share encouraging words and stories. This will be a powerful visual showing how we are a united club that supports one another and is proud to have so many amazing girls and women as part of Picton Rangers. As part of our celebrations, we are proud to recognise the appointment of our first-ever female president in the history of Picton Rangers F.C. , Shauna Mazuran. She is a true inspiration for girls to look up to, showing that women can lead, achieve and shape the future of football! There will be lots of fun activities happening throughout the day, including a photo booth, temporary tattoos, face painting, music, and plenty more to keep the excitement going for players and families. Our goal is to inspire and empower the next generation of female footballers while celebrating the strength, leadership, teamwork, and community spirit of girls and women in football. |
