About Female Football Week

Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football.

In 2022 Female Football Week will take place from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th May, 2022.

The objective of Female Football Week is to drive female participation at all levels of the game.

Throughout the week Football NSW and our Associations/Clubs will be actively involved in the delivery of female football events including:
· Female football festivals
· Female coaching and refereeing courses
· MiniRoos for Girls Kick-Off programs
· W-League signing sessions

To celebrate Female Football Week, we invite Associations and Clubs to register your events.

By Registering your come and try sessions, MiniRoos gala days, coaching courses, referee courses, mentoring events, schools’ gala days, Football NSW can advertise your event and support your event where possible. We look forward to receiving your submission.

We held this event last year, although weather wasn’t great leading up to it, the event was well attended. We plan to do similar to last year, which is female only games for all ages, small field 6 v 6 for both existing and new players, skills/fitness sessions and mother’s day stalls. The club’s bbq, bar and canteen will be running.

The new clubhouse is finished complete with a new bar. We have wine and a nibble care package arranged for all our Senior Women and O40 teams to enjoy at the clubhouse on Mothers' Day.

Mini-Roo players are receiving a gift tag to give to their mums as a small token of the clubs appreciation for all they do getting players to games.

There will also be a nursery champagne breakfast in the morning to welcome new members to the club. "

"We will be celebrate our female football superheroes and their mothers through a day of showcasing female football at the home of football on the Northern Beaches.

Our Girls Youth League and Senior Women teams will take centre stage on the newly renovated Cromer Park 1 against NSW Spirit FC.

There will be a lucky door prize on the day as well as food and drinks available at our clubhouse.

We will be highlighting and celebrating female football superstars and their contribution to the female code through decorating the venue with Female Football Profiles. Purple decorations and Female Football Week branding will also work to start the conversation the national initiative. "

All female football on the synthetic pitch at Pennant Hills. Normally used for more senior groups, NWSF and Pennant Hills FC has secured the FIFA class synthetic pitch for our female players. Kicking off at with U6's, followed by U7, U8, U10 and finishing with our new O/30W team at 1pm.
PennoFC always gets a great turnout of family and friends, and we expect this year to be no different . We are planning music for between matches, and food to be cooked throughout the morning for the players by the families.

BERYL ACKROYD CUP is played during the pre-season and the final of the first season has been scheduled to line up with female football week. The Women's Beryl Ackroyd Cup has been introduced in 2022, as a knockout style tournament for Premier League and All Age division 1 teams. This run in conjunction with the Men's Cup Gilmour Cup final. The cup is in honour of Beryl Ackroyd, one of the North West Sydney Women's Football (NWSWF) founders.
