Bankstown City Happy with New Signings

Former Sutherland Shire Sharks striker Paul Harries, ex-Wollongong Wolves goalkeeper Zlatko Josevski and former Blacktown City Demons player Tayfun Devrimol have all agreed to contracts with the club.

?I?m happy that we were able to recruit these three players as I believe that they will help assist us in our fight for winning the championship this season.

?I?ve kept the majority of the squad together from last season and I have at least two players from last year?s squad set to agree to terms very soon so things are looking good for the club.

?I really believe that the secret to having a successful side is keeping the team together and that?s what I?ve gone for.?

Bankstown have since lost the services of Japanese import Hidetaka Ishii who has returned to his homeland while young striker Sash Tirovski was snapped up by rival NSW Premier League outfit West Sydney Berries.

Asked whether lethal left-foot attacker Daniel Severino was to be part of the new squad Tsekenis replied.

?At this stage ?Seva? is in Europe so we will have to assess where he is at but there is a question mark on him for now on whether he will come back to our squad.?

The 34-year-old has been busily preparing for what will be a grueling but exciting 2008 Premier League season but did state that on a personal level things are looking positive.

?I?m still ticking over but I really feel better than last year which is a great sign for myself.?

Tsekenis? first assignment with his squad is the up and coming Johnny Warren Pre-Season Cup where he hopes to start off on the right foot.

?I?ve got my mind focused on the Premier League season but that isn?t to say that I don?t want to do well in the Johnny Warren Cup.

?This tournament itself is in honour of one of the greatest Australian footballers that ever played the game so no doubt we?ll be pushing for positive results.

?My main focus at this stage is preparing my players for the 2008 season and the Johnny Warren Cup has been seen as our first ideal hit-out against the rest of the squads.?
