Pashalis, a long-time football advocate, was admitted as a solicitor in 1980 and due to his legal skills was retained as Legal Counsel by Soccer Australia during the period 1998 to 2003.

Pashalis was involved in the negotiation and drafting of sponsorship and television contracts and in the protection of the then Soccer Australia?s intellectual property.

In December 2003, George joined Neil Scott Lawyers where he specialized in the areas of business and commercial property law and maintained involvement in sports law by way of appearances before disciplinary tribunals and the International Court of Arbitration for Sport.

No stranger to the world game, Pashalis was heavily involved with former NSL champions and current NSW Premier League outfit Sydney Olympic and held various positions as treasurer, secretary and as an Honorary Chairman over a period of more than 20 years.

George is well credentialed for his new role as Competition Manager given his understanding of the game from a club perspective and this will certainly prove invaluable to a significant core of the Football NSW customer base.

Pashalis is also conversant with all structural changes that have taken place at both State and National Level which puts the successful solicitor in good stead for what will be a busy 2008 in the Football NSW calendar.

Pashalis is delighted to have accepted his new role with Football NSW and was eager to head up the Competitions department at Football NSW.

?I am really looking forward to the challenge and being involved in the State?s Premier competition and the many underpinning leagues for football which form the pyramid of the state?s football competition structure.?

?I am hoping to make an extensive contribution to the game in the prospect of seeing Football NSW continue its tremendous service towards promoting the sport.?

Pashalis will commence his post as Football NSW Competitions Manager in February but in the meantime, will finish up his final assignments with Neil Scott Lawyers.
