PCYC Parramatta Eagles coaching staff success in Baltimore


Joined by 8000 other coaches and world class guest speakers such as Gerard Houllier and Steve McClaren, Jason Falzon (Head Coach), Nick Porreca (Assistant Coach) and Stacy Alogdellis (Goalkeeper Coach)
The PCYC Parramatta Eagles contingent stood out in the crowd as one of the few Australians there to experience such an enormous career highlight, along with the Technical Director of the Australia Football Federation, Kelly Cross.

NSCAA Convention offered learning and networking opportunities at all levels of the game, heightened by the many foreign technicians on hand to learn from and to mingle with. A few of the key sessions the PCYC coaching staff attended were:

  • A practical exercise on scoring by the Technical Director of Coaching in the US, Jeff Tipping.
  • Steve McClaren (the former national coach of England) conducting a defending Drill and giving a lecture on the journey of a coach.
  • Gerard Houllier (Former Liverpool coach now working for the French FA) offering a practical and supporting lecture on French player development.
  • Head coach of the Major League Soccer in the US, also Coach of the year, conducted a practical on shooting and possession exercises.
  • Jozef Venglos the President of the European Football Coaches Association lectured on developing players to play at the highest level.

Not forgetting the many well-known international club representatives who were there on behalf of the David Beckham Academy, Everton, West Ham United, Manchester United Soccer Schools, AC Milan, Blackburn Rovers, and many more.

The coaching staff received a US State Diploma for their attendance and participation, established new relationships with international academies, and gathered knowledge on club management and operations.

The conference reinforced to the PCYC coaching staff that taking a holistic approach is world?s best practice which is the way forward for PCYC.
