Stingrays Take the Double

In the Mitchell Shield, the Stingrays went to an early lead which they held through a very exciting match until 20 seconds from full time when the Orange Waratahs were able to equalise.  The match then went into extra time, but not for long as the Stingrays stunned their opposition with a stinging goal two minutes into the added period to win a gripping match 2-1.  Player of the tournament was the Stingrays Hanna Minogue.
In the presitigious Mitchell Cup Final two undefeated teams, the Illawarra Stingrays and Panthers FC faced up to each other and provided a very exciting encounter which was worthy of the Final.  Displaying outstanding talents both teams gave their all and the Stingrays were first to score but the Panthers were not to be outdone and came back courageously to equalise and it was not until the dying moments of the match that the Stingrays were able to grab a great goal to win 2-1 and complete a magical weekend for the Illawarra Stingrays.  Player of the Tournament was Stingrays Caitlyn Danyi.
