Olympic held by valiant Rams

Macarthur was the dominant side throughout the match and it was evident within the first five minutes when a Michael Brown corner, latched on to by the head of Adam Wither, only just drifted wide past the goal.
Macarthur was progressing through the opening stages with some great passing through Josh ford and in-form Michael Brown, as the Rams looked to open scoring early on.
Olympic was struggling to hold some quality possession; however Milorad Simonovic was the stand out working hard in the centre, defensively trying to hold some possession for his side.
Macarthur were finding some good form with their passing with Hugo Coronel and Jason Lewis working well in a link-up play down the right side which could have put Coronel through to a scoring position, however the linesman called them offside.
Olympic?s Simonovic was in a good position to open the scoring in the 24? minute when his burst through the centre left him options from left to right, finding himself in a one on one position with Roy Bell, however the Macarthur goalkeeper stood tall leaving Michael Brown to make a great tackle.
In the 28? minute Macarthur?s Hugo Coronel showed splendid skill passing three Olympic players to put in a deadly cross in the centre met by a great attempted volley by Jason Lewis; however it didn?t carry enough venom to bother Michael Herbet.
In the 36? minute Olympic should have scored the first of the game when Macarthur?s goal keeper Roy Bell punched away the ball only for it to sit nicely for Milorad Simonovic who put in a nicely struck cross to find Anthony Hartshorn, who had a clear open goal, however his attempted header sailed way over the bar.
Just before the break Renato Jelen could have given his side a healthy one-nil lead to take to the break when he struck a shot from 25 metres out, only for his attempt to just blaze over the bar – the game remained scoreless at the half.
After the interval Macarthur began putting pressure on the Olympic side with some great lead-up play involving Michael Brown and Jason Lewis. In the 52? minute Lewis hit a sensational shot outside the 18 yard box but it was saved by the Olympic goal keeper Michael Herbet.
In the 64? minute Hugo Cornel and Steven Baveas dominated in a great play to find Jason Lewis who struck a shot, however it was wide of the goal.
Substitute Shannon Hankin provided a good lift for the side playing some great link-up play with Lewis, meanwhile substitute striker James Young worked hard to claim an opening for the side ? to no avail.
Olympic had the best chance of the game in the 76? minute when Michael Cindric hit a sensational volley which curled left of the goal only for it to strike the woodwork.
However despite Olympic?s last ditch opportunity Macarthur looked the most dangerous to find the only goal of the night. In the 90? minute McCann put in a sensational through ball to substitute James Young to find himself one on one with Michael Herbet, however Young took one touch too many leaving the Olympic goalkeeper to dive on the loose ball.
Macarthur had one last chance in injury time when Shannon Hankin switched the ball to the left side with a sensational cross finding James Young in the centre pouncing at the ball, however his chance sailed to the left of goal, leaving another missed opportunity for Macarthur.
Blues Skipper Peter Zorbas did his bit in keeping the Blues at bay with a decent performance in the middle of the park.
Paul Carter was delighted with the effort from his side, however he believes his side deserved all three points on the night:
?The boys played well tonight unfortunately we couldn?t put in a goal and seal the three points, I thought tonight we were far better on the field, our passing game has improved and we know we are getting better each week?
