Super League Round 6 Preview

All four clubs are staring down the barrel of really long seasons unless they find some sort of spark to ignite their campaign.
At the other end of the scale, fast-starters Liverpool, Bonnyrigg and the Northern Tigers can maintain their advantage with games against bottom-four sides, while chasers Granville, St George, Parramatta and Rockdale play each other.
The results could split the table in two early in the competition.
Red-hot Bonnyrigg White Eagles must be licking their lips coming into a clash with the wounded Fairfield City Lions at Norford Park on Saturday night (7.30pm kick-off).
Fairfield have leaked a league-worst 12 goals in four games and won?t like the fact Bonnyrigg has put 10 goals past them in their last two encounters (5-0 and 5-1). But Lions are kings of the jungle and a local derby is always fair game for an upset.
In the other Saturday night match (7.30pm), a lowly Central Coast Lightning play Fraser Park Dragons at Fraser Park, and both teams are searching for a way off the bottom of the ladder.
Rival coaches are still casting a watchful eye over Hugh McLafferty?s side from up north, and the Dragons ? who beat the Lightning 3-1 at the same venue last July ? can expect a tough encounter. Central Coast won their two previous matches 3-1 and 1-0 (at Fraser Park in 2006).
Sunday showcases an array of critical matches, including a blockbuster between St George Saints and PCYC Parramatta Eagles at Melita Stadium (3pm kick-off). St George has just broken back into the top-five, and Parramatta lurk one point behind them ? and their history is ballistic.
The clubs met three times in 2007, the Eagles? first year in Super League. Parramatta drew first blood winning 1-0 at St George Stadium before the Saints returned fire with a 1-0 win at Melita Stadium. The third clash, the minor semi-final, provided more fireworks with St George prevailing 2-1.
Rockdale City Suns and Granville Rage meet at the Ilinden Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon (3pm) with only one point separating the two sides, Granville just ahead.
The glaring difference is a much tighter defence from the Suns, conceding just three times in four games. But going by their past affairs, any team could win. Granville grabbed a 1-0 win at Rockdale last July, a few weeks after a 2-2 draw at Garside Park. The Suns beat the Rage 1-0 in 2006.
Sunday also sees competition leaders Bossy Liverpool travel to Popondetta Park to tackle Mount Druitt Town Rangers (3pm kick-off).
Liverpool blew their undefeated start to the year with a narrow loss to Bonnyrigg last week and Bossy will be keen to step back into the winner?s circle with a good showing against Mount Druitt.
The Rangers are yet to win in four tries but they have picked up three draws along the way, so they will prove stubborn. In a lacklustre year from both teams in 2007, a 1-1 draw decided their May meeting at Popondetta Park before Liverpool won 2-1 at Moorebank in August.
It will be an absolute mammoth effort if a winless Sydney University survive the next three weeks of Super League.
Stagnant on one point, Uni start a three-game terror run against the Northern Tigers at Uni Oval on Sunday (3pm), before playing Liverpool and Parramatta away. The Tigers have beaten Uni three times in their four previous matches, including wins of 3-1 and 3-0 (at Uni Oval). But Uni did blow the Tigers away with a 4-1 victory last May.
