SDSFA Coach of the Month and Player of the Month winners

SDSFA introduced this year, which is proudly sponsored by SportFirst Fairfield, who have kindly donated 2 x $50 vouchers each month in recognising both the coach and player of the month winners.
Clubs nominate a player aged in the junior competitive (U9 to U16) and a Coach (any age group) and they must give a reason as to why they are worthy candidates.
It gives recognition to SDSFA?s coaches that volunteer their time towards this great sport and gives incentive to the junior players.
It can be quite hard to choose just one winner as all clubs have such exemplary coaches and players.
Each month the coach and the player are presented a certificate and their SportFirst Fairfield $50 voucher at SDSFA?s General Meeting in front of all the clubs.
May?s winners are:
Coach of the Month
Teresa Portolesi
Mt Pritchard Junior Soccer Club
Mt Pritchard Junior Soccer Club would be proud to nominate our U/5 Budgie Black Coach Teresa Portolesi for this month’s Coach of the Month.
Teresa brought her son to Mt Pritchard Juniors Registration Day and immediately enquired as to a Coaching position with the team.
Teresa has been very pro-active within the Club and has really brought her team together.
Her confidence and outgoing personality is infectious and she has the total attention of her team, something that is rare in U/5 teams.
We get a lot of positive feedback from parents who spot Teresa running around with her team demonstrating moves which all of the children try to emulate. They certainly all have fun trying.
We hope that Teresa continues within our Club and we wish we had 50 more Coaches with the same qualities.
Player of the Month
Maddison Noel
U16 Girls
Chipping Norton
Maddison is a member of the undefeated Chipping Norton Under 16 Girls team.
The girls have won both the Colo Girls Challenge and the Harry Williams Cup this season with Maddison being an integral part of each success.
Maddie actually scored the winning goal in the Harry Williams Cup Final.
Maddie plays as our left back.
She is quick, very skilful on the ball and rarely does an opponent get around her.
Maddie is also capable of pinpoint crosses when she joins in the attack.
This girl is a serious soccer player who’d certainly make it at a higher level. Not only does Maddie possess all this talent but she’s also a great team person.
She’s happy to play in any position she’s asked. Maddie is a popular member of the team, even having one of our warm up drills named after her (The Maddie).
