Round 28 Preview – League Two Men’s

Second place and a spot in the promotion/relegation play-off could be decided in Round 28 of the 2026 Football NSW League Two Men’s season, with a crucial all-or-nothing clash on the cards. 

The Match of the Round this week focuses on that crucial matchup when second-placed Parramatta FC hosts 3rd-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC, with the result all-important for both side’s respective seasons. 

Match of the Round: Parramatta FC vs Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC 

Saturday, 15 August 2026 – 5pm, Melita Stadium 

An all-or-nothing clash sees the most important match of the season so far for both clubs when promotion-chasing Parramatta FC and Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC face off in a battle of the eagles. 

2nd-placed Parramatta FC could confirm their 2nd-placed finish and a spot in the promotion/relegation play-off with a victory over Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC, a side they lost 3-0 to in the reverse fixture; they will hope their top scorer this season, Marco Sama, can build on his eight goals from his past six matches. 

A win for Parramatta and any result but a win for Fraser Park FC elsewhere would confirm their 2nd-placed finish, while a loss would see them fall to within two points of 3rd-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC with two matches to play. 

3rd-placed Bonnyrigg White Eagles FC are back to their scoring best and will need a win to stay in contention for promotion; they will look to their top scorer this season, Daniel Bittar, to add to his 14 goals to help them complete the league double over Parramatta. 

A win for Bonnyrigg would take them to within two points of Parramatta with two matches to play, while a loss would end their promotion hopes and could see them drop to as low as 6th. 

With 2nd vs 3rd in the battle for a shot at promotion, the stakes do not get much higher and both teams will be more prepared for this nervy match than any other this season, with a match of the season pending. 

Nepean FC vs Hawkesbury City FC 

Friday, 14 August 2026 – 8pm, Jamison Park 

12th-placed Nepean FC will be out to get their first win over Hawkesbury City FC since 2023, hoping to claim western Sydney bragging rights and surpass them on the ladder. 

A win for Nepean could see them rise to as high as 9th, while a loss could see them drop to 13th. 

10th-placed Hawkesbury City FC have lost their past five matches but will hope to once again defeat Nepean FC away from home and claim bragging rights. 

A win for Hawkesbury could see them rise to 9th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 12th.
 

Fraser Park FC vs Central Coast United FC 

Friday, 14 August 2026 – 8pm, Fraser Park 

4th-placed Fraser Park will hope to keep their promotion hopes alive and get back on track after their 2-1 loss to Granville Rage in a mid-week catch-up match, looking to go four head-to-head matches unbeaten against Central Coast United FC. 

A win for Fraser Park could see them rise to 3rd and would keep their promotion hopes alive, while a loss could end their promotion chances and could see them drop to as low as 6th. 

7th-placed Central Coast United FC have won their past three matches and will hope to further their position up the ladder, looking to secure a top-half finish in their final three matches. 

A win for Central Coast could see them rise to as high as 5th, while a loss could see them drop outside the top half of the ladder to 8th. 

Inner West Hawks FC vs Mounties Wanderers FC 

Saturday, 15 August 2026 – 5pm, Arlington Oval 

11th-placed Inner West Hawks FC return from their bye, looking to cause an upset over the Premiers, having only narrowly lost to them 1-0 in the reverse fixture. 

A win for Inner West could see them rise to as high as 9th on the ladder, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 13th. 

Premiers Mounties Wanderers FC will be out to continue their title celebrations, looking to complete the league double, with the league’s top scorer this season, Patrick Antelmi, hoping to hit 30 goals for the season so far. 

A win for Mounties would be their twenty-second from twenty-six matches this season, while a loss would be just their third. 

Gladesville Ryde Magic vs Bankstown United FC 

Saturday, 15 August 2026 – 5pm, Christie Park 

13th-placed Gladesville Ryde Magic will be hoping to snap a seven-match losing streak, coming up against a Bankstown United FC side they have lost their last six head-to-head matches against. 

A win for Gladesville could see them rise to as high as 11th on the ladder, while a loss would see them drop to 14th. 

14th-placed Bankstown United FC have lost back-to-back matches against 2nd and 1st in the league, respectively, in recent weeks and will hope to find positive results to end the season. 

A win for Bankstown would see them rise one spot to 13th, while a loss would see them remain in 14th. 

Granville Rage vs South Coast Flame FC 

Saturday, 15 August 2026 – 5pm, Garside Park 

6th-placed Granville Rage will hope to keep their slim promotion hopes alive when they host a South Coast Flame FC side they have lost their past four head-to-head matches against, their last win coming at home in the 2024 season. 

A win for Granville could keep their promotion hopes alive and could see them rise to as high as 3rd, while a loss could see them drop one spot to 7th. 

9th-placed South Coast Flame FC will hope to snap a three-match losing streak and complete the league double over the Rage for a second year in a row, looking to find positives to end their season on a high. 

A win for the Flame would see them maintain their spot in 9th, while a loss could see them drop to as low as 11th. 

Sydney University SFC vs Dunbar Rovers FC 

Sunday, 16 August 2026 – 5pm, Sydney University Football Ground 

8th-placed Sydney University SFC will hope to earn back-to-back wins and complete the league double over Dunbar Rovers FC in their pursuit of a top-half finish this season. 

A win for University could see them rise one spot to 7th, into the top half of the ladder, while a loss would see them remain in 8th. 

5th-placed Dunbar Rovers FC will hope to keep their slim promotion hopes alive with a win, hoping to extend their unbeaten streak to ten matches. 

A win for Dunbar could see them rise to as high as 3rd and potentially keep their promotion hopes alive, while a loss would end their promotion chances and could see them drop to as low as 7th. 

15th-placed Camden Tigers FC have a bye in Round 28.
