Conference League Northern Round 10 Review
Despite prior rainfall, two grounds held up well in the circumstances, and Sunday?s matches went ahead as scheduled with a couple of interesting results.
High flying Hawkesbury City are no longer, as they suffered their second consecutive loss of the season, going down 0-2 away to Gladesville Ryde Magic at Magdala Park.
And it was Johnny Martinez that provided the magic indeed, scoring both goals for the home side, late in the game in the 76th and 89th minutes, to give Gladesville a much needed victory.
Luddenham Oval was the other venue that beat the deluge, but home side Luddenham United probably wished otherwise as they came unstuck, losing 1-2 to Springwood.
Densley put Springwood in front on 50 minutes, before Small doubled their lead with just five minutes remaining.
Luddenham pulled one back in the 88th minute via Nedanovski, but it was too little, too late, as the visitors grabbed all three points to catapult them to equal fourth on the ladder.
Roosters FC had the weekend off courtesy of the bye.
