Between the sticks with James Chronopoulos

He will celebrate his big birthday later in the year.
As one of the two goalkeepers at Marconi ? a club for which current Socceroo goalkeepers Mark Schwarzer and Ante Covic once played ? Chronopoulos has had some wonderful matches this year in the TeleChoice Premier League.
His outstanding saves have had a major impact on several results this year; a draw could easily have been a loss for Marconi had it not been for Chronopoulos and his heroics between the sticks.
He is in many ways not too dissimilar to Schwarzer because, like the Socceroos number one custodian, Chronopoulos is a local Marconi junior. He has been with the club since the under-10s.
This year marks his third season for the Stallions, even though on the negative side of the ledger it must be said that positive results were hard to come by for the club in the early rounds of the TeleChoice Premier League.
?We are still undefeated at home and that just shows the determination that?s here in the team,? he said.
Chronopoulos currently works in landscaping on a full-time basis, but the real picture-perfect landscape he is building is his career.
It is hard not to notice his quality both on and off the field. Chronopoulos is talented, yet modest. And, most importantly, he is fiercely loyal to the Stallions who are his priority at the moment before he even thinks about greener pastures.
?Like everyone else here my first priority is with Dave Barrett and the Marconi Stallions, and then we?ll see what happens after that,? he said.
?If I can get some A-League gig or some overseas gig that will be good, but I?ll take one day at a time.?
